The creation of intelligent fields and the application of artificial intelligence in the oil and gas industry ensures high rates of development. An example of this is the implementation by state concerns &quot;T&uuml;rkmennebіt&quot; and &quot;T&uuml;rkmengaz&quot; of digital monitoring systems at oil and gas fields. This has made it possible to monitor the technical indicators of wells in real time. The application of artificial intelligence has helped in building geological models and conducting drilling operations. Also, management processes are being automated at plants and a transition to paperless document flow is being implemented. For example, at the Turkmenbashi Complex of Oil Refineries, production and logistics processes were transferred to an automated digital system. In the construction of the transnational TAPI gas pipeline, which is an important project in the region, thanks to the digital system, it will be possible to centrally regulate and manage gas flow within four countries.

In our country, all the aforementioned work is carried out using the SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) system. This system allows automatic remote management and control of technological processes. Among its main functions are data collection from wells, plants, pipelines; remote control (for example, turning on pumps, opening and closing valves from a control point located thousands of kilometers away); notification (for example, if pressure goes beyond normal limits, the system automatically sends a signal); report preparation (archives all data and prepares charts for economic analysis). At a new stage of digital system implementation, Turkmenistan is connecting the SCADA system to satellite communications. Such fundamental approaches will further advance the development of the fuel and energy complex.

The Fuel and Energy sector is on the path of fundamental changes

On 26 January, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a working meeting via the digital system with Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers T. Atahallyyev and the hakims of the velayats, during which issues related to the country&rsquo;s agro-industrial sector and the work being carried out in the regions were considered.

The hakims reported on the ongoing seasonal agricultural campaigns in the regions.

As noted, proper agronomic care is currently being provided to wheat fields in accordance with established standards. As part of preparations for the upcoming cotton sowing season, ploughing, land leveling and harrowing are being carried out, along with the application of mineral fertilizers to enrich the soil.

Efforts are underway to supply cotton producers with high-quality seed material, including the processing of raw cotton and seed selection, as well as the repair and technical maintenance of agricultural machinery and equipment involved in the sowing campaign.

At the same time, within the framework of the spring planting of potatoes and vegetable and melon crops, agrotechnical measures are being implemented to prepare land plots and seed material.

The hakims also reported on measures being taken to ensure the proper functioning of heating systems in residential buildings, organizations, enterprises and social and cultural facilities in the regions, as well as to guarantee uninterrupted electricity, gas and water supply to the population.

In addition, information was provided on the pace of construction work at facilities scheduled for commissioning in the regions this year in accordance with the &ldquo;Program of the President of Turkmenistan for the Socio-Economic Development of the Country for 2022&ndash;2028&rdquo; and the National Rural Program.

After hearing the reports, the Head of State emphasized the strategic importance of the agricultural sector in strengthening the country&rsquo;s economic power and instructed that the full utilization of agricultural machinery during seasonal fieldwork in the regions be kept under strict control.

The President of Turkmenistan also instructed that constant attention be paid to ensuring the high-quality and timely construction of facilities planned for opening in the velayats this year in accordance with state programs.

Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers T. Atahallyyev reported on the progress of seasonal agricultural campaigns in the country.

As noted, in order to grow a rich wheat harvest and ensure an ample supply of bread products for the population, crop care in the velayats is being carried out in line with agrotechnical requirements.

Preparations are underway to provide producers with high-quality cotton seeds and to ready agricultural machinery that will be involved in the sowing campaign.

At the same time, ploughing and leveling of land plots allocated for potatoes and vegetable and melon crops are being conducted, along with the selection of seed material for these crops ahead of spring.

Having heard the report, the Head of State stressed that strict compliance with agrotechnical standards during seasonal activities contributes to achieving high results in agricultural production, and instructed the Deputy Prime Minister to keep the work in this area under constant control, in particular crop care for wheat and preparations for the spring sowing.

Then, addressing the participants of the working meeting, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov once again emphasized the importance of the seasonal agricultural work currently underway and instructed that its implementation be kept under strict control, including proper care of wheat fields in strict accordance with agrotechnical requirements, as well as the timely and high-quality execution of measures to lay the foundation for the cotton harvest and other agricultural crops.

The announcement was published in the Nebit-gaz newspaper on 27 January. The contest aims to artistically highlight in the press the work carried out in Turkmenistan&rsquo;s oil and gas industry in the year declared by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov as &laquo;Independent neutral Turkmenistan &minus; the homeland of purposeful winged horses&raquo; to inspire workers to achieve professional success, to promote the country&rsquo;s high economic indicators among the population, and to popularize the core principle of Arkadag Hero Serdar: &laquo;Watan diňe halky bilen Watandyr! D&ouml;wlet diňe halky bilen d&ouml;wletdir!&raquo;.

Workers of Turkmenistan&rsquo;s oil and gas sector are eligible to participate. Serdar Berdimuhamedov congratulates the people of Turkmenistan on Defenders of the Fatherland Day

Turkmenistan and Afghanistan discussed the progress of the Turkmenistan&ndash;Afghanistan&ndash;Pakistan&ndash;India (TAPI) gas pipeline project. This topic was one of the main issues at the meeting between Turkmenistan&#39;s Ambassador to Afghanistan, Hoja Ovezov, and Afghanistan&#39;s Minister of Mining and Petroleum, Hedayatullah Badri.

Ovezov spoke about the current stage of the project implementation and plans for further work.

The parties expressed hope that the pipeline will be completed to Herat by the end of this year.

The total length of the TAPI gas pipeline is approximately 1,814 kilometers: 214 kilometers will run through Turkmenistan&#39;s territory, 774 kilometers through Afghanistan&#39;s territory, and 826 kilometers through Pakistan&#39;s territory to the border with India.

On October 20, 2025, with the participation of Hero-Arkadag, National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, a ceremonial opening of the next stage of the Serhetabad&ndash;Herat gas pipeline, named &quot;Arkadagyň ak &yacute;oly,&quot; took place.

As a result of successful project implementation, Afghanistan will annually receive over 1 billion US dollars, and Pakistan will receive between 200 and 250 million US dollars. This will provide substantial assistance in achieving these countries&#39; strategically important goals.

Turkmenistan envisions increasing environmental safety not only on its own territory but also in the recipient countries. For example, Pakistan and India currently use large amounts of coal and petroleum products. Natural gas supplies will eliminate or reduce the need to use these types of fuel and will contribute to air purification in cities.

In addition, the latest achievements in digital technologies are being fully utilized in the construction of the TAPI project. The SCADA supervisory control system automatically shuts off gas supply at the slightest leak or pressure drop at any point in the pipeline and prevents environmental damage. The pipes being laid are coated with special protective materials on the outside and inside, which prevents their corrosion. Moreover, during construction and installation work, special protective technologies are applied to prevent pollution of rivers and groundwater, and strict control is exercised to preserve the uniqueness of flora and fauna.

Turkmenistan and Afghanistan discussed the current stage of TAPI gas pipeline project implementation

On 24 January, a meeting took place between the Vice President for Medical Activities of the Charity Fund for Providing Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship named after Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, Oguljahan Atabayeva, and the Representative of the United Nations Children&rsquo;s Fund (UNICEF) in Turkmenistan, Ms. Jalpa Ratna. The parties discussed ways to further strengthen the long-standing and effective dialogue in the interests of the country&rsquo;s young citizens.

Exchanging greetings, the participants noted that ensuring the well-being and health of the younger generation is a priority of state policy, implemented under the wise leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and through the efforts of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Hero-Arkadag.

The UNICEF representative emphasized that the initiatives of the Turkmen state in the field of maternal and child health fully correspond to the global Sustainable Development Goals and expressed interest in deepening relations with the Charity Fund. On 24 January, the President of Turkmenistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the country, General of the Army Serdar Berdimuhamedov, took part in the opening ceremony of a complex of new buildings and facilities of military units of the Armed Forces in the Lebap velayat. This event became a wonderful gift for servicemen on the eve of Defender of the Fatherland Day, which is widely celebrated in the country.

The President of Turkmenistan was welcomed here with musical and song performances.

Among the facilities constructed by the individual enterprise &ldquo;Aga gurluşyk&rdquo; are a parade ground, a canteen, a House of Culture, barracks, a medical unit, an open sports ground, a training polygon with a reservoir, a vehicle parking area, a helipad, as well as service, utility and social-purpose buildings.

All necessary conditions for the service and daily life of servicemen have been created here.

The Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces familiarized himself with the conditions created in the administrative building of the complex and visited the barracks located on its territory. 
The technical equipment of the administrative building, the layout of offices and the conditions created fully comply with international standards and requirements in this field.

The Head of State reviewed modern military equipment and unmanned aerial vehicles that have recently entered service with the National Army. 
While getting acquainted with the unique features of the military equipment presented, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief emphasized that the material and technical base of the National Army will continue to be consistently strengthened, with particular focus on improving the professional level of young soldiers and officers.

The President then visited the new canteen of the complex.

The modern equipment installed here makes it possible to prepare high-calorie meals and provide servicemen with proper nutrition. The canteen also includes special premises for proper food storage, including warehouses and refrigeration chambers.

After inquiring about the working conditions in the canteen, the Head of State stressed that food products must always be environmentally friendly, giving a number of relevant instructions to the Minister of Defense. 
The Supreme Commander-in-Chief also visited the observation point of the training polygon with a reservoir and familiarized himself with the progress of bridge construction using specialized vehicles for the movement of military equipment.

The President of Turkmenistan inspected new residential buildings for servicemen and their family members located on the territory of the complex.

The complex of new buildings and facilities of military units of the Armed Forces of Turkmenistan includes four modern four-storey residential buildings with 50 apartments each, designed for 200 families, as well as a shop, a children&rsquo;s playground and a parking area.

Spacious and bright rooms testify to the compliance of the construction with modern requirements, while their provision with necessary amenities is yet another example of the state&rsquo;s constant concern for ensuring proper social and living conditions for servicemen.

The adjacent territory of the residential buildings has also been благоустроена. There are children&rsquo;s and sports playgrounds, enabling family members of servicemen to improve their health and spend their leisure time usefully. These modern houses clearly demonstrate that measures to create the necessary conditions for a comfortable life of servicemen and their families remain a constant priority of the state.

The retail outlet operating on the territory of the complex offers a wide range of food products, household goods and other items, demonstrating successful efforts to ensure uninterrupted supply of goods to the population.

A medical unit equipped with modern equipment is also located here, where doctors provide high-quality medical services to servicemen and their family members.

Turkmenistan's oil and gas sector is training specialists with international experience

Turkmenistan intends to use its chairmanship of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) in 2026 to advance initiatives aimed at strengthening economic, transport, and energy cooperation. This was stated by Turkmenistan&#39;s Plenipotentiary Representative, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Russian Federation, and Chairman of the Commission on Economic Affairs, Esen. Aydogdyev , speaking at the first event held in the Commonwealth under Turkmenistan&#39;s chairmanship&mdash;a meeting of the Economic Affairs Commission of the CIS Economic Council. The meeting took place on January 22, 2026, at the Moscow Office of the Executive Committee of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).

It was noted that the main guideline here is the CIS Economic Development Strategy for the period up to 2030.

The presented Concept for Turkmenistan&#39;s CIS Presidency in 2026 also includes environmental and sustainable development issues, particularly cooperation in renewable energy and the protection of the Caspian region&#39;s biodiversity. The humanitarian dimension will be a key focus of Turkmenistan&#39;s chairmanship. On January 23, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers via digital means, where a number of state matters were discussed.

The first to speak was the Chairman of the Mejlis , Dunyagozel Gulmanova , who reported on the ongoing work to consistently modernize the country&#39;s legal framework and introduce amendments and additions to previously adopted laws.

Romania has expressed interest in supplying refined oil products from Turkmenistan to global markets

The effectiveness of work carried out by the State Corporation &laquo;T&uuml;rkmengeologi&yacute;a&raquo; is not only a source of income for Turkmenistan&#39;s economy, but also the foundation of the country&#39;s energy independence. The obtaining by specialists of the &laquo;Marynebitgazg&ouml;zleg&raquo; expedition of the corporation of an industrially significant flow of natural gas from the second exploration well at the Hazarly field has become another step in increasing the country&#39;s gas reserves.

New exploration work and the results obtained at the Hazarly field prove that other fields within Mary velayat also have great prospects. To obtain natural gas flow, drillers carry out several complex stages. Appropriate measurement work is conducted to determine the volume and pressure of gas extracted from the well. The composition of the obtained gas is studied under laboratory conditions. In the near future, preparatory work will begin to connect this well to the general gas transmission system.

This large flow obtained from the Hazarly field, after connection to the unified gas system of Turkmenistan, will provide significant support to both domestic consumers and international export directions. Since gas from the Hazarly-2 well is extracted in Mary velayat, it is convenient for direct connection to the country&#39;s strategic gas transmission system. The Turkmenistan-China gas pipeline is currently the largest export direction. New fields in the Mary velayat play an important role in ensuring the stability of this pipeline. Newly discovered fields will serve in the future to further strengthen the resource base of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline. Through domestic trunk gas pipelines, this gas can be directed not only abroad, but also to major industrial enterprises of our country.

The &laquo;Marynebitgazg&ouml;zleg&raquo; expedition in recent years has fundamentally modernized its technical base. The successes achieved at such deep points with high pressure as the Hazarly-2 well are directly related to these new technologies. The main modern drilling technologies used by this expedition include powerful drilling rigs &quot;ZJ-70D&quot; and &quot;ZJ-70 DB&quot;. These rigs are capable of reaching depths of up to 7 thousand meters. Turkmen geologists currently use powerful digitally controlled drilling rigs manufactured in China and other developed countries.

The plans of the State Corporation &laquo;T&uuml;rkmengeologi&yacute;a&raquo; for the coming years are an integral part of the country&#39;s energy strategy and are aimed primarily at increasing reserves of &quot;blue fuel&quot; and conducting digital geological exploration work. Turkmen geologists obtained industrial gas flow in Mary velayat

Scientists from Tyumen State University (Russian Federation) have developed a new method for modeling in-situ oil combustion to improve the efficiency of high-viscosity oil extraction. The scientists&#39; research was published in the &quot;Journal of Engineering Physics and Thermophysics,&quot; reports the website &quot;ferra.ru&quot;.

The method involves pumping air into an oil reservoir using a pump to ensure sustained combustion of the oil. This reduces the viscosity of the oil and facilitates its extraction. The new technology is economically viable for high-viscosity oil fields.

The scientists created a simplified one-dimensional model for calculating the characteristics of the oxidizer, oil, water and combustion products in the reservoir. This allows for determining the most optimal technological parameters.

&quot;The essence of the technology lies in pumping air into the reservoir using a pump and creating conditions for sustained combustion of the oil. Heat release during combustion leads to a reduction in oil viscosity, which facilitates its extraction. Compared to other thermal methods, this inexpensive technology is suitable for fields with higher oil viscosity,&quot; noted Alexander Gilmanov, a specialist from the university&#39;s Department of Modeling Physical Processes and Systems.

Scientists develop new method for extracting high-viscosity oil

Turkmenistan is consistently modernizing customs procedures and implementing digital solutions to facilitate trade as part of its preparation for accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO). This was announced by Galina Romanova, Head of the Consolidated Department of Public Finance and Economic Policy at the Ministry of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan, speaking at the Economic Forum within the framework of the Week of the United Nations Special Programme for the Economies of Central Asia (SPECA) taking place in Ashgabat.

Galina Romanova noted that since obtaining observer status, Turkmenistan has been carefully studying WTO agreements to ensure their alignment with national interests and long-term development goals.

The forum participants, including heads and representatives of relevant ministries and sectoral agencies from Central Asian countries, Azerbaijan, India, international organizations including UN specialized agencies, the European Union, the World Bank and others, focused on comprehensive consideration of opportunities for forming a new architecture of economic cooperation in the Eurasian space.

In his congratulatory address to the forum participants, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that the Economic Forum, held in the year of celebrating the glorious 35th anniversary of the sacred independence of neutral Turkmenistan, will contribute to the successful implementation of consistent efforts by our country together with other SPECA member states to achieve goals aimed at ensuring the region&#39;s further development.

Digitalization and trade facilitation: Turkmenistan's steps toward WTO accession

The Japanese company Kawasaki Heavy Industries is ready to participate in the implementation of infrastructure projects in Turkmenistan, Trend reported, citing a company representative.

The giant Japanese industrial conglomerate also expressed its willingness to assist in the modernization of the country&rsquo;s industry, leveraging its accumulated international experience and technological solutions.

The company representative also noted that Kawasaki Heavy Industries highly values the current investment climate in Turkmenistan.

It is worth noting that Kawasaki Heavy Industries took part in the construction of a gas-chemical plant for producing gasoline from natural gas in Ahal province, which is the first facility of its kind in the world. The plant processes 1.8 billion cubic meters of natural gas per year and produces 600,000 tons of ECO-93 gasoline, 12,000 tons of diesel fuel, and 115,000 tons of liquefied gas.

Joint economic projects aimed at further strengthening bilateral partnership between Turkmenistan and Japan were also discussed during a meeting in Tokyo between Turkmenistan&rsquo;s Ambassador to Japan, Atadurdy Bayramov, and Hiroyuki Tsubai, Chairman of the Japan-Turkmenistan Committee on Economic Cooperation.

The Japanese side confirmed the need to continue work on the economic projects announced by the President of Turkmenistan at the first &ldquo;Central Asia + Japan&rdquo; Dialogue Summit held in Tokyo on December 20, 2025, including projects in the field of circular economy.

Particular emphasis was placed on the importance of further developing the medical cluster in Arkadag city, in which the Japanese company Sumitomo Heavy Industries, Ltd. is also actively involved.

On January 21st, the President of Turkmenistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the country, Army General Serdar Berdimuhamedov, held an off-site extended meeting of the State Security Council, at which the results of the activities of military and law enforcement agencies of the country for 2025 were reviewed and tasks for the current year were determined.

The first to speak was the Secretary of the State Security Council, Minister of Defense B. Gundogdyyev, who reported on the measures implemented in the past year within the framework of the &quot;Program for the Development of the Armed Forces of Turkmenistan for 2022-2028,&quot; as well as on the practical steps taken to modernize the material and technical base of the National Army, and significantly improve the service and social living conditions of military personnel.

A report was also presented on the results of work carried out on the discharge to the reserve and conscription of citizens of Turkmenistan for military service.

Having heard the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that in the past year, programmatic work was carried out to build up the power of the Armed Forces of the country, and practical measures were implemented to strengthen the material and technical base of the National Army and the defense capability of the Motherland.

The Head of State emphasized the importance of consistent development and improvement of the Armed Forces of Turkmenistan in 2026, including the material and technical base, as well as further improvement of service and living conditions of military personnel, and enhancing their professional training and qualifications. In this regard, specific instructions were given to the Secretary of the State Security Council and the Minister of Defense.

Subsequently, heads of military and law enforcement agencies of the country presented reports on the results of work in the structures under their supervision.

In particular, information was presented on measures taken to modernize the activities of structures in accordance with the requirements of the times, including through the introduction of best practices, ensuring supervision over proper compliance with regulatory legal acts, as well as on improving the qualifications of employees.

Addressing the meeting participants, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized that every year on January 27th, the country solemnly celebrates Defenders of the Fatherland Day.

As the Head of State said, the sacred duty of every defender of the Fatherland is devoted service to the Motherland, reliable protection of its sacred independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity and constitutional order, ensuring law and order, protecting the rights, freedoms and legitimate interests of individuals and citizens, as well as the interests of society and the state. Expressing confidence that the defenders of the Fatherland will perform their duty with honor and dedication, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, taking the opportunity, sincerely congratulated the meeting participants, as well as military personnel and employees of military and law enforcement agencies of the country on the upcoming Defenders of the Fatherland Day.

At the off-site extended meeting of the State Security Council, a number of other important issues were also considered, on which appropriate decisions were made.

The medals were awarded for great personal contribution to strengthening the independence and sovereignty of permanently neutral Turkmenistan, strengthening its defense capability, protecting territorial integrity and constitutional order, ensuring security, public and legal order, legality, exemplary performance of official duties and achieving high results in combat training, as well as taking into account many years of impeccable service to the sovereign Fatherland and courageous people, conscientious work, special merits before the state and society, great success in fruitful state and public work.

Military and special ranks, as well as qualification classes were conferred for contribution to strengthening the defense capability of the independent Fatherland, conscientiously fulfilling sacred military duty, great merits in strengthening law and order, protecting peace in society.

Within the State Concern &quot;T&uuml;rkmennebit&quot;, the &laquo;T&uuml;rkmennebitgeofizika&raquo; department plays a key role in implementing ongoing transformations. The department&rsquo;s specialists ensure comprehensive study of geophysical formations, both in wells that have already been drilled and in those where drilling is still underway, while also ensuring the precise execution of necessary measures.

To accomplish these tasks, the department&rsquo;s laboratories&mdash;including mobile laboratories mounted on powerful vehicles&mdash;are actively used, enabling work to be carried out with high accuracy and reliability.

Last year, the enterprise conducted exploratory and geophysical work totaling more than 105,339,767 manats, achieving 110.9% of the planned target.

Specialists and workers of the department in Balkanabat, equipped with modern equipment and technologies, concluded the past year with high production results and continue to work actively to achieve new significant successes in the current year.

The Nebitlije oil and gas condensate field is located in the uplift zone of G&ouml;gerendag&ndash;Ekerem in Western Turkmenistan. This zone has long attracted attention due to numerous direct indicators of oil and gas presence on the surface. These indicators are primarily associated with active mud volcanoes, which, in turn, are genetically caused by the accumulation of hydrocarbon fluids in the subsurface.

It has previously been noted that the modern and quaternary sediments of the field lie beneath a significant thickness of deep geological layers in the G&ouml;gerendag&ndash;Ekerem zone.

Analysis of drilling materials, exploration well tests, and operational data indicates that the field is characterized by a highly complex geological structure, as well as by the area and distribution of oil and gas saturation across its section. Saturation levels in well layers vary sharply, and evaluation based on test results does not always correspond to structural factors. This confirms the seismic survey&rsquo;s interpretation of the position of oil- and gas-saturated rocks in the field. Well log and layer test data suggest that, within the field, local lithological variations, discontinuity of layers, and small faults limiting the reservoirs play a significant role as collectors.

Considering the complexity of the geological structure and the hydrocarbon saturation of productive deposits, the following criteria were primarily taken into account when dividing the calculation blocks:

<ul>
	<li>Fluid saturation and physical properties of the combined productive layers of the objects.</li>
	<li>Accuracy in matching the areas of domes and reservoir bases.</li>
	<li>Local displacement of productive reservoirs relative to dense, impermeable rocks.</li>
	<li>Presence of water-saturated layers in the terminal parts of productive reservoirs in well sections.</li>
</ul>

From the above, it follows that the data obtained for the field make it possible to determine the geometry of the reservoirs and calculate oil and gas reserves.

When calculating average indicators of the effectiveness of geological exploration in the oil and gas zone, both highly productive fields (K&ouml;rpeje, G&uuml;norta Gamyşlyja, Ke&yacute;mir, Akpatlawuk) and less productive fields (Ekerem, G&ouml;gerendag, Ekizek, and others) are included. Thus, compared to other fields, the efficiency of geological exploration at the Nebitlije field is within an average range; however, in the economic analysis of the G&ouml;gerendag&ndash;Ekerem zone, the indicators are close to average.
