The final stage of preparations is being completed for one of Turkmenistan&rsquo;s leading international forums &ndash; the 25th Multisector International Exhibition and Conference &laquo;White City Ashgabat &ndash; 2026&raquo;, which will take place on 24&ndash;25 May in the capital of Turkmenistan under the motto &laquo;Architecture. Innovation. Sustainable Development&raquo;.

The 25th Multisector International Exhibition and Conference &laquo;White City Ashgabat 2026&raquo; will be dedicated to architecture, infrastructure, urban development, and investment cooperation.

According to the latest data, more than 650 delegates from 55 countries have registered to participate in the event, demonstrating a high level of international interest from both the public and private sectors. Over 100 international companies representing a wide range of industries related to the modernization of urban infrastructure, energy systems, modern construction technologies, and international investment cooperation will take part in the exhibition and conference program.

The session will present long-term approaches to the further development of Ashgabat, with a focus on infrastructure modernization, industrial development, modern energy systems, digital governance, smart city technologies, and sustainable urban ecosystems.

The plenary session will also serve as a platform to discuss the role of international partnerships and investment mechanisms in developing the cities of the future, capable of effectively responding to contemporary economic and environmental challenges. Special attention will be paid to how modern infrastructure and urban planning solutions can contribute to greater connectivity, economic diversification, and improved quality of urban life.

The second day of the forum will be dedicated to practical and commercial aspects of urban transformation. Within sectoral sessions and specialized discussions, issues such as financing and investment, construction ecosystems, industrial development, sustainable construction technologies, modern urban energy systems, engineering solutions, innovation, workforce training, and the formation of a modern urban environment will be addressed.

The aim of the discussions is to strengthen cooperation between government institutions, international financial organizations, development institutions, and the private sector, as well as to promote new investment opportunities and long-term infrastructure partnerships.

In addition to the business program, a series of bilateral meetings and business negotiations will take place.

The exhibition part of the forum will showcase projects, technologies, and solutions in the fields of modern construction, architecture, engineering systems, energy infrastructure, industry, urban services, and digital technologies. International companies and organizations will present initiatives reflecting current global trends in sustainable and smart urban development.

Modern energy systems as a strategic focus of an International Forum in Ashgabat

The 36th meeting of a Regional Planning Council of the Economic Cooperation Organization was held on May 17. A delegation from Turkmenistan also participated in the forum.

The event, held in a hybrid format, will continue until May 20 under the chairmanship of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

The event, held under the motto &laquo;Reviving Regionalism for a Sustainable ECO&raquo;, brought together the heads of delegations from the Organization&#39;s member states to discuss the implementation of the decisions of the 35th meeting of the Regional Planning Council, as well as the approval of a Work Program and Calendar of Events for 2026.

In his speech, the head of the Turkmen delegation outlined Turkmenistan&#39;s key positions on developing regional cooperation. On May 18, flower-laying ceremonies were held in Ashgabat at the Monument to the Constitution and the Main Flag of the country, with the participation of a President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

Gathered at the Monument to the Constitution were the Speaker of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, Deputy Chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, heads of ministries and departments, military and law enforcement agencies, diplomatic missions and international organizations accredited in our country, honorary elders, representatives of public organizations, the media, students, and numerous residents of the capital.

At a Palace &laquo;Maslahat k&ouml;şgi&raquo;, a Hero-Arkadag was seen off by senior officials of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan and its Office.

Several hours later, the aircraft of the National Leader of the Turkmen people arrived in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

In the morning, the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan arrived at Windsor Castle, where the Hero-Arkadag was warmly welcomed by Edward Benyon, Deputy Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Royal Windsor Horse Show, and Sarah Rutherford-Jones, an events representative in Windsor.

Impressed by the spectacle, the Queen sincerely admired it and said: &laquo;Among the Turkmen, the horse adorns the rider, and the rider adorns the horse&raquo;. This episode vividly demonstrated how even at that time our &laquo;heavenly&raquo; horses were widely celebrated.

During the talks, the Prince Edward also met with Oguljahan Atabayeva, the Vice President of the Charity Fund, who spoke about the scientific application of hippotherapy using Akhal-Teke horses for the rehabilitation of children with disabilities. The beneficial impact of these &laquo;heavenly&raquo; horses on human health has been confirmed by centuries of Turkmen experience. During exchange trading that took place at a State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan last week, deals for the purchase of petrochemical products were concluded on both the domestic and foreign markets.

On the domestic market, representatives of Turkmenistan&#39;s business community concluded deals with a State concern &laquo;T&uuml;rkmennebit&raquo; for the purchase of &laquo;SN-350&raquo; and &laquo;SN-600&raquo; base oils.

On the foreign market, deals were concluded with State concerns &laquo;T&uuml;rkmenhimi&yacute;a&raquo; and &laquo;T&uuml;rkmengaz&raquo; for the purchase of desulfurized diesel fraction and liquefied gas. These deals were made to representatives of businesses from Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Also at the exchange trades held at the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan last week, textile products, residual cottonseed oil containing fatty acids, dry licorice root extract, raw silk, cotton yarn, raw cotton fabric, first-grade purified cottonseed oil, and first-grade wheat flour were purchased on both domestic and foreign markets. Buyers included entrepreneurs from the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Uzbekistan, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the Republic of T&uuml;rki&yacute;e, and Kyrgyzstan.

Petrochemical and textile export deals were concluded at exchange trading

During the exchange trades held at a State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan on May 16, transactions for the purchase of petrochemical products were concluded on a foreign market.

Representatives of Afghan business circles concluded deals with State concerns &laquo;T&uuml;rkmenhimi&yacute;a&raquo; and &laquo;T&uuml;rkmengaz&raquo; for the purchase of liquefied gas.

Two transactions totaling $10.2 million were concluded during the trades.

Turkmenistan sold petrochemical products on a foreign market

Measures are being taken in Turkmenistan to improve the material and technical support of a State corporation &laquo;T&uuml;rkmengeologi&yacute;a&raquo;. A Deputy Prime Minister Guvanch Agajanov reported on this at a regular meeting of a Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan held via digital system on May 15.

As reported, at a number of fields and sites located in the western region of the country, oil and gas exploration expeditions of the State corporation are conducting drilling operations at exploratory wells in order to search for oil and natural gas. From May 13 to 15, 2026, Bayrammyrat Atamanov, a Rector of a Yagshygeldi Kakayev International Oil and Gas University, paid a working visit to the People&#39;s Republic of China.

The head of the delegation delivered a report entitled &laquo;Turkmenistan and China: Implementing Innovative Technologies in the Oil and Gas Industry within the Framework of a Strategic Partnership in Science and Education&raquo;. The Head of state called the participation of Akhal-Teke horses in the competition one of the most memorable historical events, emphasizing that it elevated the level and significance of the international competition. On May 14, a Hero-Arkadag, as part of his visit to the Republic of Tatarstan, attended an International Equestrian Complex &laquo;Kazan&raquo; and participated in the forum of an Organisation of Islamic Cooperation marking the declaration of Kazan as a Cultural Capital of the Islamic World.

At the Equestrian Complex, the National Leader of the Turkmen people was warmly welcomed by a Deputy Prime Minister, a Minister of Agriculture and Food, and a Chairman of the Federation of Horse Breeding and Equestrian Sport of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Zyabbarov, as well as a Director of the International Equestrian Complex.

There, the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and a Head of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov familiarised themselves with an exhibition of Tatarstan&#39;s agricultural products, organised on the grounds of the complex.

The exhibition featured various types of food products. Specialists introduced Hero-Arkadag to the highlights of the exposition.

Turkmenistan&#39;s foreign policy is grounded in the principles of positive permanent neutrality, the legal status of which has been confirmed three times by relevant resolutions of the United Nations General Assembly, providing a reliable basis for consistently advancing policies of peace, good-neighbourliness, and broad international cooperation, said the Hero-Arkadag.

The neutral status also serves as a key factor in implementing Turkmenistan&#39;s integrated and long-term cultural and humanitarian strategy. Turkmenistan has joined the main international conventions and treaties of a humanitarian nature and, together with the Community of Nations, is working to implement them at the national and global levels.

In this context, the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan continued, it should be emphasised that in close cooperation with UNESCO, large-scale efforts have been carried out in the country for many years to protect and preserve the historical, cultural, and natural heritage of the Turkmen people. As a result, more than 1,500 historical and cultural monuments are currently registered on the territory of Turkmenistan.

Of particular significance is the inclusion of the historical sites of Ancient Merv, Kunya-Urgench, and the Parthian Fortresses of Nisa in the UNESCO World Heritage List as outstanding monuments of world civilisation.

Special attention is also paid in the country to the preservation of intangible cultural heritage. A number of nominations &mdash; including &laquo;Turkmen National Art of Carpet Weaving&raquo;, &laquo;A craft of dutar making and an art of performing and singing bagshi&raquo;, &laquo;An Art of Akhal-Teke Horse Breeding and traditions of adorning horses&raquo;, and &laquo;An art of Breeding a Turkmen alaba&yacute;&raquo; &mdash; have been included in the relevant UNESCO lists, said the Hero-Arkadag. Affirming the importance of education and enlightenment, the National Leader of the Turkmen people announced that Turkmenistan is putting forward the initiative to launch a large-scale programme entitled &laquo;Islamic Poetic Dialogue: Wisdom and the Connection of the Ages&raquo;.

The goal of the project is to provide broad and systematic public exposure &mdash; in our countries and around the world &mdash; to the finest works of the Islamic poetic and philosophical heritage, from antiquity to the present day. The defining historical characteristic of Islamic philosophical thought is its lyrical and poetic expression, said the Hero-Arkadag. As a first step, it was proposed to consider creating a &laquo;World Anthology of Islamic Poetry&raquo;, which would include works by outstanding poets, thinkers, and philosophers of the Muslim world, as well as those authors who feel a connection to Islam, to the Islamic cultural code and worldview.

Continuing his address, the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan noted that Turkmenistan is putting forward the initiative of &laquo;Smart City Diplomacy of the Islamic World&raquo;. The rationale is that the development of smart cities as an area of state policy is actively progressing in a number of our countries, including Turkmenistan.

&quot;Today, the concept of a &laquo;smart city&raquo; is a fusion of intellect, creativity, architecture, culture, science, technology, aesthetics, and social knowledge &mdash; precisely those concepts that form the basis of cooperation within ICESCO. And here we believe it is fitting, at this Organisation&#39;s session specifically, to establish, through Smart City Diplomacy, partnership and professional mechanisms for the exchange of experience, knowledge, developments, and plans between Islamic countries in this promising area of development,&quot; said Hero-Arkadag, expressing confidence that the proposals and ideas put forward would be given careful consideration.
