Japanese companies are implementing a number of major industrial projects in Turkmenistan as part of developing economic and energy cooperation. Specifically, an ammonia and urea plant, as well as a polymer plant, are planned for construction in the village of Kiyanly in the Balkan region. This was stated in a joint press release following the summit between Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi , published by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan.

According to the document, a contract for the turnkey construction of an ammonia and urea plant in Kiyanly was signed on September 29, 2025. The current state of amine acid gas treatment plants at the Northern Balguyi and Kukurtli fields, innovative technologies for liquefied gas production, and the material and technical base for organizing rubber production in Turkmenistan were also discussed.

Last week, 31 transactions were registered at the auctions of the State Commodity Exchange of Turkmenistan.

For foreign currency, representatives of the business circles of the United Arab Emirates and Afghanistan purchased liquefied gas, hydrotreated diesel fuel produced at the technological installations of the State Concern T&uuml;rkmennebit, as well as liquefied gas produced by T&uuml;rkmengaz Group. Businessmen from Turkey and Ukraine purchased carbamide (GK &quot;T&uuml;rkmenhimi&yacute;a&quot;).

In addition, denim and sewing products, bedding sets, cotton yarn, smooth-dyed and jacquard terry products, Portland cement, as well as mineral canteen sparkling water and soft carbonated drinks were sold for foreign currency. Buyer countries: UAE, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Ukraine. The total amount of transactions amounted to over 14 million 290 thousand US dollars.

For the domestic market, domestic businessmen purchased polypropylene (Turkmennebit Group), float sheet glass and cotton yarn for a total amount of more than 21 million 264 thousand manats.
