On November 22, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Afghanistan held a ceremonial reception to mark the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan&#39;s permanent Neutrality, International Neutrality Day, and the International Year of Peace and Trust.

To sustain the rapid growth of our national economy and ensure stable development, it is extremely important to implement a digital system. The significance of this direction is also particularly emphasized in the state policy carried out by the esteemed President.

Turkmenistan will take part in one of the region&rsquo;s largest tourism exhibitions &mdash; TITF (Tashkent International Tourism Fair), which will be held in Tashkent from 27 to 29 November. The country will feature an expanded national pavilion.

From November 17 to 21, products of the State Concern &ldquo;T&uuml;rkmennebit&rdquo; became the main economic driver of the week&rsquo;s trades on the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan. The Concern&rsquo;s products &mdash; crude oil, general petroleum coke, and hydrotreated diesel fuel &mdash; were in high demand both in domestic and foreign markets.

During the four days of the week, successful deals were concluded for &ldquo;T&uuml;rkmennebit&rdquo; products, including crude oils &ldquo;SN-180&rdquo; and &ldquo;SN-600,&rdquo; general petroleum coke, and hydrotreated diesel fuel. Both domestic entrepreneurs and foreign businessmen, particularly representatives from the UAE, actively participated in the trading operations. The high demand for the Concern&rsquo;s products formed a key part of the week&rsquo;s economic dynamics and growth.

Besides &ldquo;T&uuml;rkmennebit,&rdquo; other state and industrial entities of Turkmenistan also conducted several significant trade deals during the week: Ministry of Health and Pharmaceutical Industry sold thick extracts of Buyan root; Ministry of Light Industry concluded multiple deals for clean fleece, washed Karakul wool of various types, textile products, and yarn; State Concern &ldquo;T&uuml;rkmenhimi&yacute;a&rdquo; sold urea of grade &ldquo;B&rdquo;.

Foreign market participants from Kyrgyzstan, Estonia, Ukraine, and the UAE took part in trades across various sectors. Total financial results of the week: 9,150,505.68 USD and 278,156,280.00 manat.

She noted that the third issue of the specialized international scientific collection Traces of Centuries has been prepared for publication. Preparations are also underway to transfer findings discovered during archaeological research at historical and cultural sites of the country to the State Museum of the State Cultural Center and the Historical and Local Lore Museum of the city of Arkadag.

Vice-Premier Bayramgul Orazdurdiyeva reported on the process of sending young Turkmen citizens to pursue studies at higher educational institutions in the People&rsquo;s Republic of China and Hungary. As noted, Turkmenistan attaches great importance to training highly educated specialists for various sectors of the economy, creating all necessary conditions for young people to study at prestigious foreign universities and receive a modern education.

Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov then reported on preparations for the state visit of the President of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Kazakhstan scheduled for November 24&ndash;25. The Vice-Premier noted that trade and economic cooperation between the two countries is actively developing, with mutual trade volumes increasing. In addition, great importance is attached to deepening traditional cultural and humanitarian ties.

Vice-Premier Mammetkhan Chakyyev reported on ongoing efforts to develop and improve the logistics capabilities of the civil aviation sector. As part of activities to strengthen Turkmenistan&rsquo;s position in the system of international air cargo transportation and enhance its transit-logistics potential, the Joint-Stock Company &ldquo;T&uuml;rkmenistan Airline&rdquo; has received the status of an active member of the International Air Cargo Association (TIACA) along with the corresponding certificate.

The meeting also reviewed a number of other important issues of state significance, on which appropriate decisions were adopted.

The participation of the Turkmen delegation in the IV International Forum &quot;Fashion Commonwealth&quot;, which took place in St. Petersburg on November 19-20 this year, became a vivid testament to the country&#39;s activity in the humanitarian sphere within the CIS. The delegation was led by Oguljahan Atabayeva, vice-president for medical work of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for assistance to children in need of guardianship.

The goal of the Forum is to unite the efforts of states and charitable organizations to achieve noble goals, such as educating a physically and spiritually healthy generation, environmental education, and providing assistance to citizens in need. This humanitarian principle is fully consistent with the state policy of Turkmenistan, which prioritizes the protection of the social rights and interests of children.

The vice-president of the Charitable Foundation spoke at a session of the Forum called &quot;Being healthy is fashionable.&quot; Oguljahan Atabayeva emphasized that health protection is an important issue for modern society and one of the key conditions for the development of the state and society. Information was presented on the State Program &quot;Health&quot; and the national strategy &quot;Healthy mother - healthy child - healthy future,&quot; which have been implemented in Turkmenistan since 1995. She confirmed Turkmenistan&#39;s readiness for international cooperation and exchange of experience.

Turkmenistan strengthens humanitarian cooperation in the CIS

The &quot;Balkan&quot; Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Yard (NTZ Avaza) launched its first domestically produced dry cargo vessel, the &quot;Gadamly&quot;.

The &quot;Gadamly&quot;, with a deadweight of 6,100 tons and a length of 123 meters, fully complies with international technical and operational standards. According to Eziz Matdyev, Deputy Chief Engineer at the &quot;Balkan&quot; Shipyard, the vessel is capable of carrying up to 240 cargo containers and operating autonomously for up to four days. It is equipped with modern navigation and high-tech equipment, and its crew consists of 14 highly qualified specialists.

The launch of the &quot;Gadamly&quot; symbolizes the successful implementation of the state policy of creating a modern maritime merchant fleet, which has already been expanded with new tankers, ferries, and passenger vessels.

Commissioning work on the &quot;Gadamly&quot; is currently being completed at the &quot;Balkan&quot; shipyard. Turkmenistan's first domestically produced dry cargo vessel, the "Gadamly", was launched

On November 20, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov met with Special Envoy of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea, Joo Hyun-baek, in Ashgabat.

During the meeting, the parties discussed a wide range of bilateral cooperation issues in the political, trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian spheres. It was noted that high-level visits and contacts play a decisive role in strengthening and expanding Turkmen-Korean relations.

Special attention was paid to preparations for the Central Asia-Republic of Korea Summit.

Noting the long-standing successful activities of Korean companies in Turkmenistan, the parties reviewed the progress of existing projects in various fields.

The diplomats also discussed the participation of the Republic of Korea delegation in the International Forum for Peace and Trust, scheduled for December 12, 2020, in Ashgabat.

The idea of building a new oil refinery in Turkmenistan began taking shape in the mid-1960s. In 1965, a commission was appointed to select a site. Under the leadership of V.V. Abramov, Chairman of the State Construction Committee of the Turkmen SSR, several locations were inspected, and Site No. 3 was chosen &mdash; located 80 km northwest of today&rsquo;s Turkmenabat. Its key advantages were proximity to a railway and the Amu Darya River, good soil, and potential for future expansion.

A key factor in the feasibility study was the forecasted oil production, which was expected to reach 25 million tons by 1980. The project assignment was officially approved on February 12, 1970. On February 23, a ministerial order was issued to begin developing the launch complex and provide working drawings for the 1970&ndash;1971 construction phase.

Construction began under harsh conditions. Four days after the New Year of 1971, the first stake was driven into the ground in the Shagal area. A photo shows I.A. Aganov (far left), and the first construction group led by N.G. Sapozhkov (center). On February 15, the refinery&rsquo;s directorate began operating under the leadership of Nikolai Sergeevich Pastukhov, and on April 4, funding was opened.

Initially, the directorate was located in a single-story building in Turkmenabat. By October 1972, the staff had grown to more than 20 people, with an accounting department, procurement, and production engineering offices already functioning. Logistics were challenging: engineers and planners traveled up to 1000 km weekly to visit sites, and equipment had to be delivered from the Zerger station. On February 1, 1973, despite the severe cold and lack of heating, the directorate moved to the unfinished equipment base building.

Many pioneers left their names in the historical records: team leader N.S. Filonov, refinery director R.A. Muratov, his deputies V.S. Chuguev and R.Ya. Senkina, chief engineer Kh.M. Jamaldiev, and many others. Foreign specialists also participated in the construction, including those from East Germany (Marko Frank) and Czechoslovakia.

Alongside the refinery, the city itself began to grow. One photo shows the first house that marked the beginning of Seydi. Near the first residential buildings, the first school and other infrastructure appeared. Thus, step by step, a new industrial hub and city rose from the desert &mdash; built for and by the people who created it.
