On the eve of the New Year holidays, a series of festive concerts by international pop artists took place in Ashgabat. The musical marathon was inaugurated by one of the world&rsquo;s most famous singers &ndash; Arash.

The Eurovision prizewinner, an Iranian-Swedish artist, captivated the audience with his oriental performance style and irresistible charisma.

The following evening at the Winter Sports Complex in Ashgabat was entirely devoted to Russian performer Matvey Melnikov, better known by his stage name, Mот.

Turkmenistan and Russia Agree on a Draft Plan of Joint Activities for 2026–2028

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, on December 27, in accordance with good tradition, visited the New Year&#39;s performance at the Main Tree of the country and the New Year&#39;s show at the building of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan. At the 64th plenary meeting of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly, two resolutions initiated by Turkmenistan were unanimously adopted. The UN General Assembly unanimously adopted a resolution declaring 2025 the International Year of Peace and Trust at the initiative of Turkmenistan.

Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov emphasized that hundreds of events took place in the country and abroad over the year. The UN General Assembly adopted a number of resolutions at Turkmenistan&#39;s initiative, including documents on permanent neutrality, energy connectivity, and sustainable transport for 2026-2035.

Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to the UN, Hero of Turkmenistan Aksoltan Ataeva reported on the key achievements of the year. In particular, in the outgoing year Turkmenistan was elected to the UN Economic and Social Council for the period 2026-2028, the country hosted the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries, following which the Avaza Programme of Action and the Avaza Political Declaration were adopted.

Representatives of diplomatic missions from the USA, Germany, Uzbekistan, and Iran highly praised Turkmenistan&#39;s role in strengthening peace and stability. US Ambassador Elizabeth Rood noted the United States&#39; consistent support for Turkmenistan&#39;s policy of positive neutrality.

As part of the ceremony, an awards ceremony was held for heads of diplomatic missions of foreign states and international organizations accredited in Turkmenistan, as well as citizens of Turkmenistan, who received the anniversary medal &quot;T&uuml;rkmenistanyň Bitaraplygynyň 30 &yacute;yllygyna&quot; and a commemorative silver badge &ldquo;T&uuml;rkmenistanyň Bitaraplygynyň 30 &yacute;yllygy&rdquo; on behalf of President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

The II International Scientific and Practical Online Conference &quot;The Role of Biotechnology in Sustainable Development of the Agricultural Sector&quot; was held at the Turkmen Agricultural Institute.

The forum was attended by representatives from 88 universities and research centers from 14 countries, including Turkmenistan, Russia, Belarus, Central Asian states, the Caucasus, and South Asia.

The conference was dedicated to agro-biotechnological innovations, bioresources and sustainability, as well as issues of education and training for the agro-industrial complex. A total of 260 scientific presentations were heard, the best of which received high praise at the final session.

Turkmenistan hosts conference "The Role of Biotechnology in Sustainable Development of the Agricultural Sector"

Turkmenistan is preparing to host a large-scale Turkmen-Chinese business forum and exhibition scheduled for April 28-30, 2026, which will serve as an important international platform for expanding trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.

The joint-stock company &quot;Talvas Yoly&quot; and its division &quot;Oguz Forum &amp; Expo&quot; in cooperation with the Turkmen Logistics Association are the official organizers of the event. The forum is aimed at developing partnership in logistics, transport, export and import, as well as establishing direct business contacts between specialized companies of Turkmenistan and China.

The initiative is designed to support Turkmen logistics companies, expand their international presence and strengthen the country&#39;s position as a key regional transport and logistics hub.

Holding the business forum aligns with the overall course of Turkmenistan&#39;s energy and economic policy. The country&#39;s energy policy, initiated by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and implemented under the leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, is aimed at comprehensive development of the oil and gas industry and its integration into the international energy system.

Turkmenistan, which ranks among the world&#39;s leading states in natural gas reserves, is actively developing energy dialogue with international partners. An international roadshow forum on attracting foreign investment to the country&#39;s economy was held on April 23-24 in Kuala Lumpur. The organizers were the State Concerns &quot;T&uuml;rkmengaz&quot; and &quot;T&uuml;rkmennebit&quot;, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan in partnership with &quot;Turkmen Energy Forum&quot; LLC.

On May 14, an international meeting was held in Ashgabat between Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Tan Sri Tengku Muhammad Taufik, head of Petronas company, Sultan Ahmed Al-Jaber, UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and CEO of Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), and other high-ranking representatives of the energy sector. Following the meeting, agreements were signed between the State Concern &quot;T&uuml;rkmennebit&quot;, Petronas &Ccedil;arigali (T&uuml;rkmenistan) Sdn Bhd and ADNOC T&uuml;rkmenistan RSC Limited, as well as between the State Concern &quot;T&uuml;rkmengaz&quot; and the mentioned foreign partners.

The upcoming Turkmen-Chinese business forum and exhibition will be a logical continuation of the course toward deepening international economic cooperation and diversifying Turkmenistan&#39;s foreign trade relations.

A roundtable discussion on &quot;Prospects of Eurasian Integration &ndash; the Role of Youth in the New Digital World&quot; was held in Ashgabat. The event, organized by the Department of Education, Science and Culture of the Russian Embassy, brought together diplomats, scholars, experts and representatives of youth organizations.

The meeting was timed to coincide with the 100th anniversary of Russian people&#39;s diplomacy. Discussion participants emphasized the symbolic nature of the current year: the centennial anniversary of people&#39;s diplomacy coincided with the Year of International Peace and Trust, as well as the celebration of the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan&#39;s permanent neutrality.

First Secretary of the Russian Embassy Yulia Zaitseva noted that these dates underscore the countries&#39; common aspiration for unity and stability. According to her, the development of humanitarian and economic ties serves as a solid foundation for the progress of both states.

Special attention during the meeting was given to digitalization: experts called on the younger generation to actively embrace new technologies while not forgetting to preserve spiritual values, which remain the key to sustainable development in a changing world.
