On December 14, a delegation of Turkmenistan led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ahmet Gurbanov took part in the 11th Global Forum of the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC), held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The forum, dedicated to the theme &ldquo;UNAOC: Two Decades of Dialogue for Humanity &mdash; Advancing a New Era of Mutual Respect and Understanding in a Multipolar World,&rdquo; brought together representatives of national governments, youth and women leaders, as well as representatives of civil society institutions and media organizations from around the world.

In his address, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ahmet Gurbanov emphasized the growing importance of the UN Alliance of Civilizations amid a crisis of trust and increasing polarization in international relations, noting the consonance of its activities with Turkmenistan&rsquo;s initiative to proclaim 2025 as the International Year of Peace and Trust. On December 15, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan between Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Myahri Byashimova and the Head of the Austrian&ndash;Turkmen Society, Neda Berger.

Day of Oil, Gas Industry, and Geology workers was celebrated with great ceremony in Balkan Province

On December 15, on the eve of the New Year, a ceremonial lighting of the country&rsquo;s Main New Year tree took place in Ashgabat, the capital of Turkmenistan.

In accordance with a long-standing tradition, the square in front of the &ldquo;&Auml;lem&rdquo; Cultural and Recreation Center, located at the foothills of the Kopetdag Mountains, was chosen as the main venue for the celebrations. A tall New Year tree was installed there, surrounded by splendid decorative designs symbolizing the festive spirit.

The event was attended by residents and guests of the capital, folklore and dance groups, circus and theater performers, as well as fairy-tale characters. The most impressive moment of the celebration was the lighting of the Main New Year tree with the help of Ayaz Baba&rsquo;s magical staff.

At the same time, the lights of New Year trees installed in the city centers of the country&rsquo;s velayats were also lit. Festive performances were held there, music and songs were played, and children danced around the New Year trees, sharing the joy of the holiday with cheerful performances.

Lights of the Main New Year tree were lit in Turkmenistan

On December 15, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov presented awards at the Martial Arts Sports Complex of the Ashgabat Olympic Village to young people who won prize places at international academic competitions and world-class sports tournaments, as well as to their mentor teachers and coaches.

In accordance with the relevant documents signed by the President of Turkmenistan, athletes who won gold medals at world-level sports competitions and their coaches were awarded 2025 model &ldquo;Toyota Camry&rdquo; passenger cars. Athletes who earned silver medals received cash prizes of 70,000 manats, while bronze medalists were awarded 40,000 manats. In addition, coaches who trained athletes winning silver and bronze medals at world-level competitions received cash prizes of 70,000 manats.

Taking into account the high achievements of young people at international academic competitions and Olympiads, as well as the merits of their mentors, school students who won second place and silver medals at world-level Olympiads were awarded 70,000 manats, while those who took third place and bronze medals received 40,000 manats. Furthermore, university students who won first place and gold medals were awarded 100,000 manats, those who took second place and silver medals received 70,000 manats, and those who placed third and won bronze medals received 40,000 manats. Teachers who prepared school and university students achieving high results at world-level Olympiads were awarded cash prizes of 100,000 manats. The National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Hero Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, delivered a speech at the International Forum in Ashgabat dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan&rsquo;s permanent Neutrality.

In his address, Hero Arkadag emphasized the need for constructive mobilization of potential, political maturity, will, and principled commitment on the part of the entire international community. The National Leader of the Turkmen people noted that all states, regardless of their political systems, size, or other factors, today bear responsibility for the future of our planet.

According to Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the key mechanism for such unity is the potential of the United Nations.

At present, the number of countries expressing interest in Turkmen energy resources is steadily increasing. Turkmenistan Is Shaping Far-Sighted Foundations for a World Order of Peace

On December 12, an International Forum was held in Ashgabat, timed to coincide with the International Year of Peace and Trust, the International Day of Neutrality, and the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan&rsquo;s permanent neutrality. High-level delegations from countries around the world, as well as international and regional organizations, took part in the event.

&ldquo;It is a great honor and privilege for us to see our guests on Turkmen land. Welcome to Turkmenistan!&rdquo; President Serdar Berdimuhamedov said, emphasizing that the current Forum is regarded as a major event of international significance, intended to serve as a starting point for reflecting on regional, continental, and global processes, and for affirming in international politics the values of peace, cooperation, equality, trust, justice, a culture of dialogue, and mutual understanding.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov particularly stressed that the United Nations views our country as a responsible and effective partner in addressing the most important global and regional challenges, achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, and promoting fair and balanced approaches to international cooperation across a broad range of areas. In this regard, Turkmenistan expressed its readiness to expand the scope of interaction with the UN and to seek focused attention and substantive engagement of its specialized agencies in the development and implementation of national, regional, and global programs.

At the high-level event, heads of foreign states and governments also delivered speeches.

Turkmenistan and Russia Aim to Develop Interstate Cooperation

Based on the Decree of the President of Turkmenistan, the Day of Workers of the Oil and Gas Industry and Geology, celebrated annually in our country since 15 January 2010, carries great historical and political significance. This date is closely connected with the launch of the Turkmenistan&ndash;China gas pipeline, which was inaugurated on 14 December 2009 during the tenure of our National Leader, Hero Arkadag, as Head of State. With the commissioning of this modern gas system, Turkmenistan&rsquo;s blue fuel opened its historic route, and today this day is celebrated as the holiday of the national energy industry.

A long-term vision for energy policy

The energy policy implemented under the leadership of esteemed President Serdar Berdimuhamedov aims at the rapid development of the oil and gas sector &mdash; the backbone of the national economy &mdash; and its successful integration into the international energy space. Its phased development expands the opportunities for Turkmen gas to enter international markets. Today, demand for Turkmen energy resources is high, and international companies show great interest in enhancing cooperation with our country. Thus, Turkmenistan&rsquo;s diversified export strategy aligns with increasing natural gas production and expanding gas-chemical output.

Modern gas-chemical complexes built and commissioned in recent years have broadened the country&rsquo;s export potential and paved the way for the production of high value-added products.

According to the &ldquo;Programme for the Development of Turkmenistan&rsquo;s Oil and Gas Industry until 2030&rdquo;, work is successfully continuing to expand production capacity, implement new technologies, and widely use digital systems. Innovative solutions are actively applied at oil and gas fields, increasing productivity. Great importance is attached to environmental protection, reduction of methane emissions, and contributing to addressing global climate challenges.

Turkmenistan actively participates in international environmental initiatives. At the UN COP28 Conference in Dubai, the country officially announced its accession to the Global Methane Pledge. The 30th International Conference and Exhibition &ldquo;Turkmenistan Oil and Gas &mdash; OGT 2025&rdquo;, held in Ashgabat on 22&ndash;24 October 2025 under the slogan &ldquo;Energy. Innovation. Development.&rdquo; clearly demonstrated once again the international success of the country&rsquo;s energy industry.

The participation of more than 1,400 representatives from 70 countries reflects the high level of global confidence. Over 100 companies took part in the exhibition, which is a 45% increase compared to last year.

The great holiday of the Oil and Gas industry — the glorious day of Turkmenistan’s energy development

Our people are celebrating with festive spirit the glorious 30th anniversary of permanent neutrality, as well as International Neutrality Day, which is marked by significant achievements across the country. One of the industrial giants that contributed its labor achievements in honor of this holiday is the State Concern &ldquo;Turkmennebit.&rdquo;

This concern, one of the largest industrial and economic associations in the country, carries out extensive work in the exploration and industrial development of oil and gas fields throughout our great homeland. The activities of the concern&rsquo;s production units in the Balkan region are particularly important in implementing the objectives set forth in the &ldquo;Turkmenistan Oil and Gas Industry Development Program until 2030.&rdquo;

According to experts, among the leading enterprises, the &ldquo;Nebitgazburawlayysh&rdquo; trust of the concern stands out. Recently, the trust&rsquo;s labor collectives successfully completed drilling three wells at the Uzynada field in the Caspian coastal zone and put them into operation, which became a significant labor contribution to the 30th anniversary of permanent neutrality.

Wells 72 and 86 of the &ldquo;Goturdepe&rdquo; Drilling Operations Department produce 44 and 43 tons of gas condensate per day, respectively, much to the satisfaction of the specialists. In addition, well 87 of the &ldquo;Ekerem&rdquo; Drilling Operations Department at the Uzynada field, with a design depth of 6,800 meters, produces over 45 tons of gas condensate per day. After technical and commissioning work, these productive wells were handed over to the oil workers of the &ldquo;Gumdagnebit&rdquo; Department of the &ldquo;Nebitgazchykarish&rdquo; trust.

It is noteworthy that modern ZJ70DB drilling rigs, purchased from the People&rsquo;s Republic of China at the initiative of the esteemed President, were used in the drilling process. This significantly increased the volume of extracted valuable raw materials and had a strong positive impact on the performance of the industry. The high pace of work strengthens specialists&rsquo; confidence that even greater achievements will be reached in the future.

&ldquo;From the very first days of independence, having chosen a foreign policy course and a national path aimed at integration into the system of international relations, Turkmenistan, on December 12, 1995, with broad support from the international community and in accordance with a historic United Nations General Assembly Resolution, acquired the legal status of permanent neutrality. This neutrality has opened new opportunities for our country, located at the crossroads of Asia and Europe in the heart of the Great Silk Road, for developing large-scale cooperation within the framework of our foreign policy strategy, proposing and implementing initiatives that fully support and unite the efforts of the international community in the areas of universal peace, security, and sustainable development.

In a short period in the modern history of our beloved homeland, glorious pages have been written, and our neutral country has become a reliable partner and a center of peacemaking. On December 7, a reporting meeting was held in the central building of Turkmenistan&rsquo;s oil and gas complex to review the results of work completed over the eleven months of the &ldquo;Year of the Treasury of Wisdom of Magtymguly Pyragy.&rdquo; The meeting addressed tasks set by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov during the Cabinet of Ministers meeting held on December 6 via digital format, which focused on the outcomes of work across the country&#39;s economic sectors. Specific directions for further progress in the industry were also defined.

Opening the meeting, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Batyr Amanov emphasized that President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, placing great trust in the workers of the oil and gas sector, has created all the necessary conditions for the consistent improvement and development of the sector based on modern advancements. He highlighted that to ensure the stable and effective operation of the industry, production capacities are being modernized, advanced technologies and equipment are being introduced, and innovative solutions are being implemented, enabling ambitious goals to be set for the sector.

Measures for further improving the work of the Scientific Research Institute of Natural Gas of the &quot;Turkmengaz&quot; State Concern, preparation for upcoming state-level celebrations, and other key areas were also addressed.
