Turkmenistan plans to completely eliminate greenhouse gas emissions by 2030

In Turkmenistan&#39;s gas industry, significant attention is given to implementing the country&rsquo;s President&rsquo;s energy policy. Industry specialists are tirelessly working to increase natural gas production and ensure reliable supplies of this essential energy resource to both domestic and international consumers.

The Shatlyk Gas Compressor Station, one of the largest facilities within the &ldquo;T&uuml;rkmengazakdyrys&rdquo; association, plays a key role in fulfilling this task. The station services 65 kilometers of high-pressure pipelines and ensures the uninterrupted flow of gas from the &ldquo;Galkynysh&rdquo; field and other fields. Over 300 specialists are employed at the station.

The incoming natural gas is directed to both export and domestic markets, meeting the needs of the population in the Mary and Ahal regions.

In 2024, large-scale repair work was carried out on the pipeline. A 1,200-meter section was replaced, significantly improving the system&#39;s reliability. Additionally, a new gas pipeline was constructed to enhance gas supplies to the Sarahs district of the Ahal region.

Furthermore, mechanisms for opening and closing the pipelines were replaced, and the inlet and outlet pipelines were reconstructed.

In the oil and gas sector, significant attention is given to archival work

Extensive work is being carried out in our country to explore, industrially develop hydrocarbon resources, increase production volumes, process raw materials, and deliver finished products to consumers.

One of the largest enterprises in our country, making a significant contribution to the further development of the oil and gas sector, which is a priority area, and to the production of goods from hydrocarbon resources that are in high demand on global markets, is the Seydi Oil Refinery, located in the Lebap region. Over the past years, important projects have been implemented at this powerful enterprise, and extensive modernization has been carried out through significant investments, which has contributed to a substantial increase in production volumes and quality. Clear evidence of this is the variety of high-quality products manufactured at the plant and the high results achieved.

Since the beginning of 2024, declared the &quot;Year of the Ocean of Wisdom of Magtymguly Pyragy,&quot; the refinery has processed approximately 431.4 thousand tons of raw materials, achieving 109.1% of the planned target. From this volume of raw materials, approximately 375.7 thousand tons of finished products were produced. Notably, around 219 thousand tons of the produced output consisted of gasoline with various octane ratings, which was delivered to consumers. Compared to the same period last year, the growth rate of production for this valuable product reached 109.6%, serving as a vivid example of progress in improving production and its efficient organization at this enterprise.

At this large enterprise, which plays an important role in the steady development of the national economy, approximately 109.6 thousand tons of diesel fuel, 23.6 thousand tons of heavy vacuum gas oil, and more than 19 thousand tons of road bitumen were produced during the first 11 months of this year.

Such high achievements have been made possible by equipping the enterprise with state-of-the-art equipment, as well as the broad opportunities created by our esteemed President for productive work and the proper rest of the employees.

The Balkan Geophysical Expedition, operating in accordance with the Program for the Development of the Oil and Gas Industry of Turkmenistan for the period up to 2030, also makes a worthy contribution to the achievements in this direction. Specialists of our company successfully conduct seismic surveys in the western region. At present, these vital activities are being effectively implemented at promising sites such as &quot;Akmyrat,&quot; &quot;Isgender,&quot; and &quot;Akpatlawuk.&quot;

Thanks to the tireless efforts of geophysicists, our expedition has managed to honorably fulfill the planned objectives and celebrate the professional holiday of oil and gas industry and geology workers with dignity. In this context, the esteemed President especially emphasizes the importance of intensifying geological exploration using three-dimensional seismic methods (3D methods), expanding the scope of drilling, constructing exploratory and operational wells, and conducting research to identify new deposits of mineral resources at depths of up to 7 kilometers and beyond. We have successfully met the plan for conducting 3D seismic surveys over a total area of 478 square kilometers in the reporting period of this year, as well as achieved 101% of the planned work using the 2D method over the eleven months. Essentially, the 3D method allows for comprehensive study of the Earth&#39;s layers. In recent years, this method has gained popularity, enabling more in-depth examination of complex geological structures.

Buyer countries included China, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, and Kyrgyzstan. The total value of these transactions amounted to approximately 4.68 million USD.

On the domestic market, local entrepreneurs purchased base oil, mixed paraffin wax, and petroleum bitumen produced by the SC &quot;T&uuml;rkmennebit,&quot; as well as handmade carpets, cotton yarn, raw silk, and other products. 43 Transactions Registered at Exchange Trading

On December 7, a reporting meeting was held in the central building of Turkmenistan&rsquo;s oil and gas complex to review the results of work completed over the eleven months of the &ldquo;Year of the Treasury of Wisdom of Magtymguly Pyragy.&rdquo; The meeting addressed tasks set by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov during the Cabinet of Ministers meeting held on December 6 via digital format, which focused on the outcomes of work across the country&#39;s economic sectors. Specific directions for further progress in the industry were also defined.

Opening the meeting, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Batyr Amanov emphasized that President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, placing great trust in the workers of the oil and gas sector, has created all the necessary conditions for the consistent improvement and development of the sector based on modern advancements. He highlighted that to ensure the stable and effective operation of the industry, production capacities are being modernized, advanced technologies and equipment are being introduced, and innovative solutions are being implemented, enabling ambitious goals to be set for the sector.

During the meeting, reports were presented by State Minister and Chairman of the State Concern &quot;Turkmengaz&quot; Maksat Babayev, Chairman of the State Concern &quot;Turkmennebit&quot; Guvanch Agajanov, Chairman of the State Corporation &quot;Turkmangeology&quot; Gurbandurdy Garliyev, as well as by heads of associations, departments, and enterprises of the oil and gas complex. Yesterday, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers via a digital system, where a number of state-related issues were discussed. Amanov, reported on the results of work carried out in the supervised sectors from January to November of the current year, as well as practical steps taken to increase production volumes and expand energy supply routes to the global market.

It was also reported that during the reviewed period, the fulfillment of the plan for oil refining at the state concern&#39;s refineries reached 102.9 percent, gasoline production &ndash; 106.4 percent, and the export of &quot;blue fuel&quot; &ndash; 100.2 percent.

Additionally, the results of activities in diesel fuel production, polypropylene, lubricating oils, liquefied gas, as well as the extraction of natural and associated gas were presented.

After hearing the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the importance of taking necessary measures to implement the tasks outlined in the Program for the Development of the National Fuel and Energy Complex. Guided by the tasks set by the head of state to ensure food abundance in the country, the region takes care of winter potatoes, vegetable and other crops, as well as harvesting the grown crop. At the same time, preparations are underway to harvest rice.
