On May 28, 2025, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and the delegation headed by UN Under-Secretary-General, High Representative for the Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries and Small Island Developing States Fatima Rabab.

During the meeting, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the UN Under-Secretary-General discussed a wide range of organizational and protocol issues, as well as the content of the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDC 3).

Preparations to the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDC 3) discussed

What is metakaolin? It is a highly active aluminosilicate pozzolanic additive (fine-grained rock type). The mineral composition of metakaolin is a highly reactive, alumina- and silica-rich inert material. Metakaolin is mainly obtained by calcining kaolin clay at 500&deg;C to 800&deg;C (a fine-grained clay processed to less than 0.002 mm, with H₂O and CO removed). Kaolin clay has long been used by our ancestors in pottery and ceramic art.

In recent decades, metakaolin (2&ndash;8% content) has begun to be added to concrete in residential construction around the world. Concrete mixed with metakaolin or basalt is considered more environmentally friendly. The addition of basalt or metakaolin to concrete can reduce CO₂ emissions by up to 70%. In the East, it was traditional to shape clay into bricks and fire them in kilns. This method is still widely used today.

Metakaolin has a strong effect on concrete. It accelerates cement hydration and hardening, improves the structure of cement stone by making it denser and smoother, and enhances its physical and mechanical properties. It increases surface resistance to external influences by up to 30%. Concrete mixed with metakaolin becomes more flexible and easier to level when poured.

Its addition reduces stickiness to tools and surface adhesion during smoothing. It also significantly reduces shrinkage deformation, allowing for expansion without cracks.

Our sunny country is rich in kaolin reserves, especially kaolinitic sandstone. There is a deposit of such sandstone located 4 km north of the Gyzylgaya settlement in Balkan province. Kaolin clays are not only used in construction but also in the production of porcelain, faience, ceramics, heat-resistant bricks (high-alumina bricks), as well as in the paper, rubber, medical and cosmetic industries.

Production of metakaolin

A two-day regional seminar dedicated to the agenda &quot;Women, Peace, and Security&quot; and the National Action Plan on UN Security Council Resolution 1325 has started at the &ldquo;&Yacute;yldyz&rdquo; Hotel in Ashgabat.

The seminar is attended by representatives of Turkmenistan&rsquo;s ministries as well as international experts on Resolution 1325 and gender mainstreaming in the security sector. The main goal of the forum is to exchange national experiences and best practices in advancing the &quot;Women, Peace, and Security&quot; agenda.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Myahri Byashimova, emphasized that the country views the promotion of gender equality as an important component of its sustainable development and security policies. She noted that Turkmenistan is implementing the provisions of Resolution 1325 through the National Action Plan on Gender Equality for 2021&ndash;2025.

Head of the OSCE Centre in Ashgabat, Ambassador John MacGregor, stated that sustainable peace cannot be achieved without the meaningful participation of women in discussions alongside men. According to him, when women are involved in peace processes, the resulting agreements are more inclusive and long-lasting.

Special attention during the seminar is given to the experience of the Central Asian Women&rsquo;s Dialogue, established on the initiative of Turkmenistan in 2019 with the support of all five countries of the region. This platform brings together women experts, government representatives, and civil society to promote partnership and the participation of women in governance.

Regional seminar on women's participation in peace and security held in Turkmenistan

On 27 May 2025, Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Japan A.Bayramov had a meeting in Tokyo with President of Tsukuba University of Japan Kyosuke Nagata and Chairman of the Japan-Turkmen Joint Committee on Economic Cooperation Hiroyuki Tsubai.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the issues of further strengthening cooperation in the cultural, educational, trade and economic fields between Turkmenistan and Japan, including within the framework of the upcoming celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Permanent Neutrality of Turkmenistan in December 2025.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Ambassador expressed his appreciation to the Japanese side for awarding the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov the high title of &ldquo;Honorary Doctor of Tsukuba University&rdquo; during the visit of the head of the Turkmen state to Japan on 13-15 April, 2025.

The parties agreed to continue work within the framework of implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding on joint scientific research in the field of hydrogen energy between the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan and the University of Tsukuba signed on 7th of April 2025 in the online format.

A meeting of the Ambassador of Turkmenistan with President of Tsukuba University and the Chairman of the Japan-Turkmen Joint Committee for Economic Cooperation

On May 27, 2025, the successive meeting of the Steering Committee for the implementation of the Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework between Turkmenistan and the United Nations for 2021&ndash;2025 was held in the premises of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan in the hybrid format.

The meeting was attended by the leadership and staff members of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, heads and representatives of some ministries and sectoral agencies of the country, the UN Resident Coordinator in Turkmenistan, as well as chiefs and representatives of UN agencies.

The agenda of the current meeting included such issues as a review of the implementation of the current Framework Programme, consideration of the next cycle of the Framework Programme for 2026&ndash;2030, as well as discussion of the UNDP, UNICEF and UNFPA Country Programmes for the period of 2026&ndash;2030.

The high level of established multifaceted cooperation between Turkmenistan and the UN was stated at the meeting, as well as confidence was expressed that only through joint efforts it will be possible to achieve significant results that meet long-term interests in ensuring sustainable development and advanced progress. A meeting of the Steering Committee for the implementation of the Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework between Turkmenistan and the UN for 2021–2025 was held

The State Corporation &quot;T&uuml;rkmengeologi&yacute;a&quot; is a national geological organization of Turkmenistan that develops a comprehensive strategy for studying the subsurface using geological and geophysical methods. It conducts surveys to identify deposits of natural resources, including oil, gas, solid minerals, construction materials, and underground water.

The corporation maintains records and unified reporting of geological exploration activities conducted both onshore and in the Turkmen sector of the Caspian Sea. Geological and hydrogeological mapping at various scales is carried out by the hydrogeological expeditions of Ahal, Balkan, Dashoguz, and Mary provinces to evaluate groundwater conditions and the environmental state of nature.

Using monitoring wells located in Ahal, Balkan, Dashoguz, Lebap, and Mary provinces, continuous control is conducted over the quality, mineral content, and depth of underground waters.

In accordance with Turkmenistan&#39;s unified Law &ldquo;On Water,&rdquo; activities are being carried out to maintain the State Water Cadastre and to study hydrogeological signs that could serve as early indicators of earthquakes.

In addition to underground water monitoring and research, the expeditions carry out contractual work ordered by regional administrations as part of the National Program for the Transformation of Living Conditions in Villages, Towns, and District Centers of Turkmenistan until 2028, as well as by various institutions and enterprises.

Currently, the Turkmen geological exploration expedition is actively conducting geological works aimed at locating and assessing deposits of solid mineral resources, including geological and economic evaluations of their development potential.

The main goal of these efforts is to clarify the current state of the country&rsquo;s mineral resource base and to study issues related to its industrial development and rational use.

Thanks to the support of the esteemed President, all necessary conditions have been created for successfully conducting underground water exploration using advanced technologies. At present, newly delivered drilling equipment such as SZMC-300, SZMC-200, DGML-1500, and BZCYX-1000 is being deployed by &ldquo;T&uuml;rkmengeologi&yacute;a&rdquo; for exploration of underground water and solid mineral deposits.

Modern work of geologists

Korean company Daewoo Engineering &amp; Construction will build a new complex for the production of mineral fertilizers in Turkmenistan. This is envisaged by the decree of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, according to which the State Concern &quot;Turkmenchemistry&quot; is allowed to conclude a contract with this company.

The contract with Daewoo Engineering &amp; Construction Co., Ltd provides for the design and construction of a production complex for the production of 350 thousand tons of superphosphate and 100 thousand tons of ammonium sulfate per year in the structure of the Turkmenabat Chemical Plant named after S.A. Niyazov.

As noted in the decree, the contract is aimed at providing domestic agricultural producers with the necessary phosphorus fertilizers and the production of new types of mineral fertilizers.

Korean company to build chemical complex for mineral fertilizer production in Turkmenistan

A new electric station with a capacity of 220/110/35/10 kV was officially inaugurated in D&ouml;wletli village of Tejen etrap, Ahal velayat. The event was timed to coincide with Ashgabat City Day and Turkmen Carpet Day, making it a symbolic gift for these national celebrations.

The ceremony brought together regional and local officials, members of the Mejlis (parliament), representatives of enterprises, public organizations, and elders.

Speakers highlighted that the construction of the facility is a reflection of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov&rsquo;s policy aimed at boosting socio-economic development in the regions and ensuring uninterrupted power supply to the population.

Equipped with advanced technology, the station operates with a fully automated control system. Covering an area of 9 hectares, it includes two 125 MVA transformers, additional units with 40 and 25 MVA capacity, three open distribution installations (220/110/35 kV), and one enclosed 10 kV distribution unit.

On behalf of the President, modern vehicles were also handed over to support the operations of the new station, underlining the importance of the event.

This project marks another step forward in the successful implementation of Turkmenistan&rsquo;s National Program for the socio-economic development of the country and modernization of its energy sector.

On May 26, 2025, a telephone conversation took place between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People&#39;s Republic of China Wang Yi.

The parties discussed the issues of bilateral strategic partnership, in particular, in such important areas as political and diplomatic cooperation, economics, energy and a number of other areas.

The long-term mutual support of Turkmenistan and China for each other in the United Nations and other international structures and formats was emphasized. It was noted that the main factor in the dynamic development of Turkmen-Chinese relations is the open, friendly and constructive dialogue established at the highest state level. Telephone conversation between the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and China

On May 26, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a working meeting attended by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers T. Atahallyyev and the khyakims of the velayats, at which issues related to the country&#39;s agricultural sector and ongoing work in the regions were discussed.

As was noted, all necessary measures have been taken in the velayats for the organized commencement of the grain harvest and for harvesting the grown crops without loss.

In the cotton fields, inter-row cultivation, application of mineral fertilizers, and irrigation are being carried out, with agricultural machinery operating at full capacity. To further strengthen the country&#39;s food security, efforts are being made to care for potatoes and other vegetable and melon crops in accordance with agrotechnical standards, and to harvest the grown crops.

Turkmenistan Celebrated Turkmen Carpet Day

Today, Turkmenistan hosted festive events dedicated to the end of the 2024-2025 academic year. For graduates of all general secondary schools in the country, the &quot;Last Bell&quot; rang.

The &quot;Last Bell&quot; ceremony is one of the most joyful and exciting events in the lives of young men and women graduating from secondary school. The fact that this celebration, marking the graduates&#39; farewell to school and the beginning of their independent lives, coincides with Ashgabat City Day, gives it special solemnity and significance.

On May 23, 2025, a meeting took place at the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan between the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Serdar Muhammetdurdiyev and the delegation of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) led by the head of the IMF mission to Turkmenistan, Anna Rose Bordon.

During the meeting, the sides discussed the current state and prospects of Turkmenistan&rsquo;s cooperation with the IMF, including in such areas as technical assistance, advisory support and staff training. Special attention was paid to the issues of supervision of macroeconomic indicators, exchange of statistical information and promotion of structural reforms in the context of sustainable economic development of the country.

Representatives of the Turkmen side expressed gratitude to the experts of the Fund for methodological support and practical recommendations actively engaged in the development and implementation of economic policy. It was emphasized that Turkmenistan considers the IMF as an important partner in carrying out reforms aimed at increasing the openness of the economy and deepening integration into the global economic space.

On May 21, 2025, in order to develop inter-parliamentary relations between Turkmenistan and the People&#39;s Republic of China, a working visit of the Turkmen delegation led by the Chairperson of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan D. Gulmanova to the People&#39;s Republic of China began.

As part of the working visit, a meeting in an expanded format was held with the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People&#39;s Congress of the People&#39;s Republic of China Zhao Leji.

During the meeting, the importance of the adoption by the United Nations, at the initiative of Turkmenistan, of the Resolutions &quot;2025 - International Year of Peace and Trust&quot; and &quot;Permanent Neutrality of Turkmenistan&quot; was emphasized, and the Turkmen side expressed gratitude for the support of the People&#39;s Republic of China for this initiative of Turkmenistan.

During the talks, the major role of cooperation between the two states in the international legal system for the further development of large-scale, equal and mutually beneficial relations between Turkmenistan and the People&#39;s Republic of China was noted. During a regular meeting of the Government, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan B. Amanov reported on the activities of the State Corporation &quot;T&uuml;rkmengeologi&yacute;a&quot; aimed at identifying new deposits of oil and natural gas.

According to the Deputy Prime Minister, active exploration for hydrocarbon raw material deposits is currently underway in the western and southern regions of the country, utilizing modern equipment, seismic technology, and advanced software systems.

The successful completion of this work will significantly increase the volume of hydrocarbon production in the country.

After hearing the report, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized that great attention is paid to high-quality and effective geological exploration activities in the country. The Head of State noted the systematic work being carried out to identify underground deposits of oil and natural gas.

A New Park Opens in Ashgabat

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Ahmet Gurbanov participated in the first meeting of Termez Dialogue on connectivity between Central and South Asia under the title: &ldquo;Common Space of Peace, Friendship and Prosperity&rdquo;.

The meeting was attended by heads of foreign policy agencies, experts of analytical and research centers of Central and South Asian countries, representatives of financial institutions, international and regional organizations.

The participants of the event discussed the current state and prospects of interregional interaction between Central and South Asia, including strengthening cooperation in ensuring security, stability and sustainable development, as well as expanding the role of the private sector and financial structures in ensuring economic growth.

Addressing the meeting, the delegation of Turkmenistan voiced present issues and initiatives to strengthen cooperation between Central and South Asian countries in the transport and logistics, energy, economic and humanitarian spheres.

From May 21 to 24, 2025, an international youth forum is being held in Dushanbe, the capital of the Republic of Tajikistan, with the participation of Central Asian countries and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states. The forum has brought together more than 100 delegates from these regions in a spirit of friendship and cooperation.

This event aims to strengthen collaboration between the countries of both regions and to increase the contribution of youth to sustainable development.

Turkmenistan&rsquo;s delegation includes representatives from the Ministry of Education, the State Committee for Television, Radio Broadcasting and Cinematography, staff from the newspaper &ldquo;Turkmenistan,&rdquo; as well as university teachers and students.

Young scientists, entrepreneurs, IT specialists, cultural figures, athletes, volunteers, media representatives, and students serving as Youth Ambassadors for the Sustainable Development Goals are actively representing Turkmenistan at the forum. They are presenting their views and creative initiatives and exchanging experiences in various fields of international cooperation.

The forum&rsquo;s agenda features plenary sessions, exhibitions, and other events focusing on important areas such as innovation, youth entrepreneurship, ecology, education, sports, culture, youth diplomacy, volunteerism, and the media sector.

At the conclusion of the forum, the Dushanbe Declaration is expected to be adopted. Additionally, there will be sports events, an IT project exhibition, and a cultural concert.

The regular participation of Turkmen youth in such international forums is a vivid result of the successful implementation of state youth policy under the leadership of the esteemed President of Turkmenistan. It also reflects the effective execution of the &ldquo;Turkmenistan Youth International Cooperation Strategy for 2023&ndash;2030.&rdquo;
