The Fourth Meeting of the Strategic Advisory Council "Turkmenistan – UN" Held in Ashgabat

The organizing committee of one of the region&#39;s most prestigious international energy forums &mdash; the 30th International Conference and Exhibition &ldquo;Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan &ndash; 2025&rdquo; (OGT 2025) &mdash; has announced that China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) will act as the platinum sponsor of the anniversary event, scheduled to take place in Ashgabat from October 22 to 24, 2025.

Conference Held in Beijing to Mark the 30th Anniversary of Turkmenistan's Neutrality

On October 3, 2025, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a Cabinet of Ministers meeting via digital communication. During the session, the results of Turkmenistan&#39;s socio-economic development for January&ndash;September of this year were discussed, including progress in the oil and gas sector.

The reporting period revealed significant achievements in the country&rsquo;s energy sector. Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers B. Amanov presented a detailed report on the activities of the state concern &quot;Turkmennebit&quot; and oil refining enterprises. It was noted that in the first nine months of the year, &quot;Turkmennebit&quot; fulfilled its oil production plan by 109.7%. For oil refineries, the figure reached 109.4%. Gasoline production met 108.8% of the plan, diesel fuel &ndash; 101%, lubricants &ndash; 100%, and the production of natural and associated gas &ndash; 103.1%.

Steady growth was also recorded in the production of high-quality products such as polypropylene and liquefied gas, and in the export of natural gas abroad. After hearing the report, the President emphasized the need to further enhance the efficiency of production capacities, integrate new technologies, and broadly utilize digital systems. On October 15, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov attended the groundbreaking ceremony for a mineral fertilizer production complex at the S.A. Niyazov Chemical Plant in Turkmenabat.

The project for the new mineral fertilizer production complex at the S.A. Niyazov Chemical Plant of the T&uuml;rkmenhimi&yacute;a State Concern is being implemented by the Korean company Daewoo Engineering &amp; Construction Co., Ltd. The new complex will produce 350,000 tons of superphosphate and 100,000 tons of ammonium sulfate per year. The commissioning of the complex will significantly increase the capacity of the country&#39;s chemical industry.

Turkmenistan delegate spoke at the 2025 Global Women's Summit in Beijing

The closing ceremony of the World Expo 2025 was held in Osaka on October 13. The Turkmen delegation was led by Minister of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations Nazar Agakhanov.

Thanks to the consistently implemented energy policy under the leadership of our esteemed President, the fuel and energy sector is developing comprehensively. Our country possesses abundant oil and gas reserves and has accumulated extensive experience in drilling wells and developing fields, enhancing oil recovery, and processing the resulting products. As we embark on a new era of sovereignty, new opportunities are being created for the export of Turkmen natural gas in various destinations. Consequently, the capacity of hydrocarbon processing plants is being expanded.

These enterprises are being modernized using innovative technologies and are fully equipped with technical and technological equipment. The following oil and gas fields are currently located in the regions: Galkynysh, Dovletabad, Malay, 10 Years of Independence, Bagadzha, Gazlydepe, Korpedzhe, Nebitlije, Akpatlavuk, and Chekishler. In the future, to further increase production in this sector, plans are underway to develop new fields, reconstruct existing fields, and identify promising oil and gas deposits.

In our country, the Turkmennebit State Concern is carrying out important work in the production and use of oil. This &quot;black gold,&quot; one of our national treasures, is produced at such oil-rich fields as Uzynada, Barsagelmez, Northern Goturdepe, Gamyshlydzha, Keymir, and Altyguy. Furthermore, in addition to onshore production, existing fields in the Turkmen section of the Caspian Sea are being effectively developed. A key role in the energy sector is played by seabed hydrocarbon exploration and the development of coastal facilities, the use of renewable energy sources, improved environmental safety, and the widespread adoption of innovative technologies.

The benefits of the transition to clean energy are considered one of the key objectives of international energy cooperation for environmental protection and security. It is worth noting that Turkmenistan places particular emphasis on this area. The state programs adopted in our country and the work being carried out in this area serve as a clear example of this.

Turkmenistan plans to develop new oil and gas fields

Last week, 14 transactions were registered at the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan.

Turkish entrepreneurs used foreign currency to purchase urea produced at the processing facilities of the T&uuml;rkmenhimi&yacute;a State Commodity Exchange.

Portland cement, uluk, and raw fabric were also sold for foreign currency. The purchasing countries included Turkey, Singapore, and Azerbaijan. The total value of the transactions exceeded $6.5 million.

For the domestic market, domestic entrepreneurs purchased base oil (T&uuml;rkmennebit State Commodity Exchange), as well as plain-dyed and jacquard terry products, cotton yarn, raw fabric, and cotton fiber. The total value of the transactions exceeded 40,395,000 manat.

From 30 September to 1 October 2024 in Geneva, the delegation of Turkmenistan took part in the Summit of Mayors &quot;Cities of the Future&quot;, organised by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE). This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.&nbsp; &nbsp;

The Turkmen side was represented by D.Jumayev, the mayor of Avaz district. In his speech, D.Jumaev noted Turkmenistan&#39;s achievements in the field of sustainable urban development and shared successful projects aimed at improving the quality of life and creating modern conditions for the population.

Special attention was paid to the project of the &lsquo;smart&rsquo; city Arkadag, which became an example of application of advanced solutions in the field of urbanism and sustainable development. The National Tourist Zone Avaza was also presented, where modern infrastructure for recreation and recuperation has been created.

The delegation of Turkmenistan proposed to initiate an international dialogue on water resources management and urban youth development.
