Conference Held in Beijing to Mark the 30th Anniversary of Turkmenistan's Neutrality

On October 3, 2025, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a Cabinet of Ministers meeting via digital communication. During the session, the results of Turkmenistan&#39;s socio-economic development for January&ndash;September of this year were discussed, including progress in the oil and gas sector.

The reporting period revealed significant achievements in the country&rsquo;s energy sector. Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers B. Amanov presented a detailed report on the activities of the state concern &quot;Turkmennebit&quot; and oil refining enterprises. It was noted that in the first nine months of the year, &quot;Turkmennebit&quot; fulfilled its oil production plan by 109.7%. For oil refineries, the figure reached 109.4%. Gasoline production met 108.8% of the plan, diesel fuel &ndash; 101%, lubricants &ndash; 100%, and the production of natural and associated gas &ndash; 103.1%.

Steady growth was also recorded in the production of high-quality products such as polypropylene and liquefied gas, and in the export of natural gas abroad. After hearing the report, the President emphasized the need to further enhance the efficiency of production capacities, integrate new technologies, and broadly utilize digital systems. On October 15, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov attended the groundbreaking ceremony for a mineral fertilizer production complex at the S.A. Niyazov Chemical Plant in Turkmenabat.

The project for the new mineral fertilizer production complex at the S.A. Niyazov Chemical Plant of the T&uuml;rkmenhimi&yacute;a State Concern is being implemented by the Korean company Daewoo Engineering &amp; Construction Co., Ltd. The new complex will produce 350,000 tons of superphosphate and 100,000 tons of ammonium sulfate per year. The commissioning of the complex will significantly increase the capacity of the country&#39;s chemical industry.

Under the wise leadership of the head of state, Turkmenistan&#39;s chemical industry is rapidly developing and becoming an important part of the national economic diversification strategy. The country&#39;s vast natural resources allow the industry to supply itself with raw materials. On October 13, a delegation from Turkmenistan, led by Oguljennet Berdiliyeva, Chairperson of the Women&#39;s Union of Turkmenistan, participated in the 2025 Global Women&#39;s Summit in Beijing.

Turkmenistan delegate spoke at the 2025 Global Women's Summit in Beijing

The closing ceremony of the World Expo 2025 was held in Osaka on October 13. The Turkmen delegation was led by Minister of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations Nazar Agakhanov.

Opening the event, Hiroshima Ishige, Secretary General of the Japan World Exhibition Association (JWEA), celebrated the successful completion of the exhibition in Osaka and expressed his deep gratitude to all the national pavilions from around the world that participated in the event.

During the event, videos were shown about the events held during the exhibition throughout the year. Furthermore, a prominent part of the event was given to performances by cultural figures.

Following the closing ceremony, the World Expo flag was lowered and respectfully handed over to the delegation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which won the right to host World Expo 2030 in Riyadh.

Our country possesses abundant oil and gas reserves and has accumulated extensive experience in drilling wells and developing fields, enhancing oil recovery, and processing the resulting products. As we embark on a new era of sovereignty, new opportunities are being created for the export of Turkmen natural gas in various destinations. Consequently, the capacity of hydrocarbon processing plants is being expanded.

These enterprises are being modernized using innovative technologies and are fully equipped with technical and technological equipment. The following oil and gas fields are currently located in the regions: Galkynysh, Dovletabad, Malay, 10 Years of Independence, Bagadzha, Gazlydepe, Korpedzhe, Nebitlije, Akpatlavuk, and Chekishler. In the future, to further increase production in this sector, plans are underway to develop new fields, reconstruct existing fields, and identify promising oil and gas deposits.

In our country, the Turkmennebit State Concern is carrying out important work in the production and use of oil. This &quot;black gold,&quot; one of our national treasures, is produced at such oil-rich fields as Uzynada, Barsagelmez, Northern Goturdepe, Gamyshlydzha, Keymir, and Altyguy. Furthermore, in addition to onshore production, existing fields in the Turkmen section of the Caspian Sea are being effectively developed. A key role in the energy sector is played by seabed hydrocarbon exploration and the development of coastal facilities, the use of renewable energy sources, improved environmental safety, and the widespread adoption of innovative technologies.

The benefits of the transition to clean energy are considered one of the key objectives of international energy cooperation for environmental protection and security. It is worth noting that Turkmenistan places particular emphasis on this area. The state programs adopted in our country and the work being carried out in this area serve as a clear example of this.
