Daewoo E&amp;C Chairman Jeong Won-ju visited Turkmenistan from June 26 to 30 to discuss new business opportunities and strengthen the company&#39;s presence in the Central Asian market, the company said in a statement on July 1.

During his visit, Jeong Won-ju met with Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President Serdar Berdimuhamedov in Ashgabat. Daewoo E&C strengthens strategic ties with Turkmenistan

From 25 June to 3 July 2025, the 33rd Session of the Assembly of the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC) of UNESCO is taking place at UNESCO headquarters in Paris. On 24 June, the 58th Session of the IOC Executive Council was held.

The event includes thematic scientific sessions and special meetings aimed at strengthening international cooperation in monitoring the state of the oceans, predicting the impacts of climate change and protecting the marine environment.

The delegation of Turkmenistan, consisting of the Director of the Institute of the Caspian Sea of Turkmenistan Myrat Atajanov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to UNESCO Maksat Charyev, as well as an employee of the treaty and legal department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Kemal Garayev, is taking part in the sessions.

The 33rd session of the Assembly of the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission of UNESCO was held in Paris

From June 30 to July 3, 2025, in Seville, the delegation of Turkmenistan headed by the Minister of Economy and Finance of Turkmenistan M. Astanagulov takes part in the Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development (FFD4).

The event is attended by heads of state and government, the UN Secretary-General, as well as the heads of the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, the WTO and other international and regional organizations.

In his speech, the head of the delegation of Turkmenistan noted that one of the important messages of the Conference is the updated global approach to financing for development, which is reflected in the Outcome Document of the 4th International Conference on Financing for Development. M.Astanagulov emphasized that Turkmenistan will adhere to the recommendations specified in the Outcome Document, including the timely implementation of relevant development programs and strategies, including the Action Program for Landlocked Countries.

Foreign Ministers of Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan discussed current issues on the bilateral agenda

On July 2nd, The President of Turkmenistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the country, General of the Army Serdar Berdimuhamedov, held another meeting of the State Security Council, at which the results of the work of the country&rsquo;s military and law enforcement agencies over the first six months of the current year were reviewed. The agenda also included issues related to ensuring security and peace in the independent Motherland, strengthening the material and technical base of the security forces, and further improving their activities.

The first to speak was the Secretary of the State Security Council, Minister of Defense B. Gundogdyev, who reported on the measures taken in the first half of 2025 to successfully implement the Development Program of the Armed Forces of Turkmenistan and to strengthen the country&rsquo;s defense capability. A report was also presented on the results of the spring conscription campaign and ongoing efforts to improve the service and social conditions of military personnel.

After listening to the reports, the head of state gave specific instructions and directives to the respective leaders regarding ensuring security and tranquility in the country, strengthening the material and technical base of the military and law enforcement agencies, and further improving their activities.

Addressing the members of the State Security Council, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that, according to Turkmenistan&rsquo;s Military Doctrine, which has a strictly defensive character, measures are being taken to maintain a high level of military security and integrity of the independent, permanently neutral Motherland, consistent strengthening of the country&rsquo;s defense capability, and improving the social and living conditions of the defenders of the Fatherland and their families. At the same time, it was emphasized that work in this direction will continue in the future.

President of Turkmenistan Held a Regular Meeting of the State Security Council

Balkan Velayat continues to see large-scale construction efforts aimed at modernizing infrastructure and advancing Turkmenistan&rsquo;s vital oil and gas sector. Specialists from the 1st Specialized Installation Directorate of the &ldquo;T&uuml;rkmen&yacute;&ouml;ritenebitgazgurnama&rdquo; Trust, under the State Concern &ldquo;T&uuml;rkmengaz,&rdquo; are actively working in Balkanabat on a range of projects. These include the development of mineral resource fields, installation of new fuel pipelines, modernization of existing infrastructure, and the construction of cultural and community facilities.

The enterprise carries out major work commissioned by the State Concern &ldquo;T&uuml;rkmennebit,&rdquo; as well as the &ldquo;Balkangaz&uuml;pj&uuml;n&ccedil;ilik&rdquo; and &ldquo;G&uuml;nbatargazakdyryş&rdquo; departments. On 30 June 2025, in the city of Porto, Portugal, within the framework of the 32nd session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, Turkmenistan held a side event on the theme &ldquo;International Year of Peace and Trust: Strengthening Multilateralism for a Secure and Sustainable Future&rdquo;. The initiative was timed to coincide with the International Year of Peace and Trust, declared at the proposal of Turkmenistan, as well as the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan&#39;s permanent neutrality.

A telephone conversation was held between the Foreign Ministers of Turkmenistan and Zambia

On June 30, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a working meeting on the digital system with the participation of Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers T. Atahalliyev and velayat hakims, where issues related to the country&#39;s agricultural sector and the work carried out in the regions were discussed.

The hakims of the velayats reported on the progress of the current seasonal agricultural campaigns.

The hakims reported on the progress of construction of social, cultural and industrial facilities planned for opening in the regions this year within the framework of the Program of the President of Turkmenistan for the socio-economic development of the country in 2022&ndash;2028 and the National Rural Program.

This new city, built in one of the most ancient corners of Turkmen land&mdash;where the proud history of our ancestors began&mdash;is a showcase example of a smart city. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers to summarise the results of the work of economic sectors in the first nine months of the year and define the tasks ahead.

During the reporting period, on the occasion of the Day of Knowledge and Student Youth and the beginning of the new academic year, solemn events called &quot;The Storehouse of the mind of Mahtumkuli Fragi&quot; were held in educational institutions. On behalf of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Hero Arkadag and the President of Turkmenistan, all first-graders of the country were presented with Bilimli laptops. During the period under review, advanced methods of prevention and treatment of various diseases are actively used in practical medicine. Surgeries and treatment of sick children were carried out at the expense of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Care. The Foundation also donated hemodialysis equipment to healthcare institutions.

During 9 months of this year, work was carried out on the development of physical education, sports, and training of professional athletes. At international competitions, Russian athletes won 146 gold, 134 silver and 193 bronze medals. The Deputy Prime Minister also reported on the prepared draft Resolutions: On the approval of the National Program for the Development of Physiology in Turkmenistan for 2024-2028; On the approval of the National Strategy of Medical Health and Rehabilitation Measures in Turkmenistan for 2024-2028; On the approval of the National Program of Turkmenistan on Immunoprophylaxis for 2024-2028; On the provision of medicines and medical products to the population; On the creation of International Health and Rehabilitation Center; On the establishment of the International Scientific and Clinical Center of Physiology; On financing projects for the construction of cancer hospitals in the Balkan, Lebap and Mary velayats.

After hearing the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov identified further improvement of the education sector among the priorities. At the same time, it was noted that special importance should be attached to the development of sports, the holding of various competitions and international tournaments in the country.

Stressing the importance of modernizing the healthcare sector, the head of Turkmenistan ordered close cooperation with foreign partners to share best practices in this area. In this regard, the Deputy Prime Minister was instructed to ensure a high level of celebrations on the occasion of the opening of modern medical institutions dedicated to the Day of Healthcare Workers and the Medical Industry, as well as to properly prepare for the International Exhibition and Scientific Conference &quot;Healthcare, Education and Sports in the era of the Revival of a new era of a powerful state.&quot;
