On December 16, a ceremony was held at the Center of the International Association of Akhal-Teke Horse Breeding and the International Association &ldquo;T&uuml;rkmen alaba&yacute; itleri&rdquo; to present the Certificate confirming the inclusion of the national nomination &laquo;The Art of breeding the Turkmen alabay&raquo; in UNESCO&#39; s Representative list of the intangible cultural heritage of humanity.

The ceremony was preceded by presentations on the activities of the International Association &ldquo;T&uuml;rkmen alaba&yacute; itleri,&rdquo; as well as on state policy aimed at improving and preserving the purity of the breed. During the event marking this significant occasion, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Tanryguly Atahalyyev delivered a speech in which, on behalf of the ceremony&rsquo;s participants, he expressed gratitude to the Head of State and the Hero-Arkadag for the measures taken at the state level that contribute to the recognition of national values by authoritative international organizations.

UNESCO Certificate on the Art of Breeding the Turkmen Alabay presented in Ashgabat

On December 16, a meeting of the Turkmen&ndash;Austrian Friendship Group was held at the &ldquo;&Yacute;yldyz&rdquo; Hotel, during which the results of the work carried out over the current year were summed up.

During the meeting, a number of key issues aimed at further strengthening bilateral cooperation and expanding the activities of the Friendship Group were reviewed and discussed.

The main discussions focused on the development of mutually beneficial economic partnership and the further strengthening of bilateral relations, including through cultural diplomacy.

Meeting of the Turkmen–Austrian Friendship Group Held in Ashgabat

On December 14, a delegation of Turkmenistan led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ahmet Gurbanov took part in the 11th Global Forum of the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC), held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The forum, dedicated to the theme &ldquo;UNAOC: Two Decades of Dialogue for Humanity &mdash; Advancing a New Era of Mutual Respect and Understanding in a Multipolar World,&rdquo; brought together representatives of national governments, youth and women leaders, as well as representatives of civil society institutions and media organizations from around the world.

In his address, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ahmet Gurbanov emphasized the growing importance of the UN Alliance of Civilizations amid a crisis of trust and increasing polarization in international relations, noting the consonance of its activities with Turkmenistan&rsquo;s initiative to proclaim 2025 as the International Year of Peace and Trust. Day of Oil, Gas Industry, and Geology workers was celebrated with great ceremony in Balkan Province

On December 15, on the eve of the New Year, a ceremonial lighting of the country&rsquo;s Main New Year tree took place in Ashgabat, the capital of Turkmenistan.

In accordance with a long-standing tradition, the square in front of the &ldquo;&Auml;lem&rdquo; Cultural and Recreation Center, located at the foothills of the Kopetdag Mountains, was chosen as the main venue for the celebrations. A tall New Year tree was installed there, surrounded by splendid decorative designs symbolizing the festive spirit.

The event was attended by residents and guests of the capital, folklore and dance groups, circus and theater performers, as well as fairy-tale characters. The most impressive moment of the celebration was the lighting of the Main New Year tree with the help of Ayaz Baba&rsquo;s magical staff.

At the same time, the lights of New Year trees installed in the city centers of the country&rsquo;s velayats were also lit. Festive performances were held there, music and songs were played, and children danced around the New Year trees, sharing the joy of the holiday with cheerful performances.

Lights of the Main New Year tree were lit in Turkmenistan

On December 15, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov presented awards at the Martial Arts Sports Complex of the Ashgabat Olympic Village to young people who won prize places at international academic competitions and world-class sports tournaments, as well as to their mentor teachers and coaches.

In accordance with the relevant documents signed by the President of Turkmenistan, athletes who won gold medals at world-level sports competitions and their coaches were awarded 2025 model &ldquo;Toyota Camry&rdquo; passenger cars. Athletes who earned silver medals received cash prizes of 70,000 manats, while bronze medalists were awarded 40,000 manats. In addition, coaches who trained athletes winning silver and bronze medals at world-level competitions received cash prizes of 70,000 manats.

Taking into account the high achievements of young people at international academic competitions and Olympiads, as well as the merits of their mentors, school students who won second place and silver medals at world-level Olympiads were awarded 70,000 manats, while those who took third place and bronze medals received 40,000 manats. Furthermore, university students who won first place and gold medals were awarded 100,000 manats, those who took second place and silver medals received 70,000 manats, and those who placed third and won bronze medals received 40,000 manats. Teachers who prepared school and university students achieving high results at world-level Olympiads were awarded cash prizes of 100,000 manats. The National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Hero Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, delivered a speech at the International Forum in Ashgabat dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan&rsquo;s permanent Neutrality.

In his address, Hero Arkadag emphasized the need for constructive mobilization of potential, political maturity, will, and principled commitment on the part of the entire international community. The National Leader of the Turkmen people noted that all states, regardless of their political systems, size, or other factors, today bear responsibility for the future of our planet.

According to Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the key mechanism for such unity is the potential of the United Nations.

Hero Arkadag stated that the capabilities of the UN must be utilized as the only international organization possessing universal legitimacy and a mandate. On December 12, an International Forum was held in Ashgabat, timed to coincide with the International Year of Peace and Trust, the International Day of Neutrality, and the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan&rsquo;s permanent neutrality. High-level delegations from countries around the world, as well as international and regional organizations, took part in the event.

Welcome to Turkmenistan!&rdquo; President Serdar Berdimuhamedov said, emphasizing that the current Forum is regarded as a major event of international significance, intended to serve as a starting point for reflecting on regional, continental, and global processes, and for affirming in international politics the values of peace, cooperation, equality, trust, justice, a culture of dialogue, and mutual understanding.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov particularly stressed that the United Nations views our country as a responsible and effective partner in addressing the most important global and regional challenges, achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, and promoting fair and balanced approaches to international cooperation across a broad range of areas. Based on the Decree of the President of Turkmenistan, the Day of Workers of the Oil and Gas Industry and Geology, celebrated annually in our country since 15 January 2010, carries great historical and political significance. This date is closely connected with the launch of the Turkmenistan&ndash;China gas pipeline, which was inaugurated on 14 December 2009 during the tenure of our National Leader, Hero Arkadag, as Head of State. According to the &ldquo;Programme for the Development of Turkmenistan&rsquo;s Oil and Gas Industry until 2030&rdquo;, work is successfully continuing to expand production capacity, implement new technologies, and widely use digital systems. Turkmenistan actively participates in international environmental initiatives. At the UN COP28 Conference in Dubai, the country officially announced its accession to the Global Methane Pledge. International Forum &ldquo;Turkmenistan Oil and Gas &mdash; OGT 2025&rdquo;: records and achievements

The 30th International Conference and Exhibition &ldquo;Turkmenistan Oil and Gas &mdash; OGT 2025&rdquo;, held in Ashgabat on 22&ndash;24 October 2025 under the slogan &ldquo;Energy. Innovation. Development.&rdquo; clearly demonstrated once again the international success of the country&rsquo;s energy industry.

The participation of more than 1,400 representatives from 70 countries reflects the high level of global confidence. Over 100 companies took part in the exhibition, which is a 45% increase compared to last year.

The great holiday of the Oil and Gas industry — the glorious day of Turkmenistan’s energy development

Our people are celebrating with festive spirit the glorious 30th anniversary of permanent neutrality, as well as International Neutrality Day, which is marked by significant achievements across the country. One of the industrial giants that contributed its labor achievements in honor of this holiday is the State Concern &ldquo;Turkmennebit.&rdquo;

This concern, one of the largest industrial and economic associations in the country, carries out extensive work in the exploration and industrial development of oil and gas fields throughout our great homeland. The activities of the concern&rsquo;s production units in the Balkan region are particularly important in implementing the objectives set forth in the &ldquo;Turkmenistan Oil and Gas Industry Development Program until 2030.&rdquo;

According to experts, among the leading enterprises, the &ldquo;Nebitgazburawlayysh&rdquo; trust of the concern stands out. Recently, the trust&rsquo;s labor collectives successfully completed drilling three wells at the Uzynada field in the Caspian coastal zone and put them into operation, which became a significant labor contribution to the 30th anniversary of permanent neutrality.

Wells 72 and 86 of the &ldquo;Goturdepe&rdquo; Drilling Operations Department produce 44 and 43 tons of gas condensate per day, respectively, much to the satisfaction of the specialists. In addition, well 87 of the &ldquo;Ekerem&rdquo; Drilling Operations Department at the Uzynada field, with a design depth of 6,800 meters, produces over 45 tons of gas condensate per day. After technical and commissioning work, these productive wells were handed over to the oil workers of the &ldquo;Gumdagnebit&rdquo; Department of the &ldquo;Nebitgazchykarish&rdquo; trust.

It is noteworthy that modern ZJ70DB drilling rigs, purchased from the People&rsquo;s Republic of China at the initiative of the esteemed President, were used in the drilling process. This significantly increased the volume of extracted valuable raw materials and had a strong positive impact on the performance of the industry. The high pace of work strengthens specialists&rsquo; confidence that even greater achievements will be reached in the future.

On October 8, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, who arrived the day before on a working visit to the Russian Federation, took part in a meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Commonwealth of Independent States held in Moscow.

Being, in accordance with its neutral status, an associate member of the CIS, Turkmenistan takes an active position in the development of fruitful cooperation in the Commonwealth, taking into account the existing impressive potential in various fields. Our country is united with the CIS countries by traditional ties of friendship and good neighborliness, close historical and cultural ties, which serves as a solid foundation for building mutually beneficial partnership and enriching its content.

In the afternoon, the head of Turkmenistan proceeded to the Grand Kremlin Palace, which became the venue for the CIS Summit. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov was warmly welcomed here by President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.

Before moving on to the topic of the meeting, the head of Turkmenistan once again congratulated the Russian leader on his birthday and wished him good health and new successes in his service to the Russian people and the state. As President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted, Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin enjoys great respect and authority in Turkmenistan, is one of the architects of friendship, good-neighborliness and cooperation between our countries.

Continuing his speech, the head of the Turkmen state stated that this year for the CIS is marked by the implementation of the main priorities and tasks. These include strengthening security and stability, deepening economic partnership, and expanding humanitarian ties. In the coming period, the Commonwealth faces the goals of maximizing the common potential to fulfill the agreements reached and new goals dictated by current changes and trends in global political and economic life.

&quot;I am convinced that our main defining task as responsible states is to continue working together to ensure lasting peace and stability in the Commonwealth,&ndash; President Serdar Berdimuhamedov stressed. &ndash; This can be achieved by pursuing a coordinated line to further strengthen the mechanisms of political and diplomatic cooperation within the CIS, defending positions in favor of peace and security in the global arena, in international organizations.

The issue of countering new challenges and threats is particularly acute today. First of all, we mean such serious risks as biological hazards, cybercrime, and the illegal use of information platforms. In this context, the Head of Turkmenistan noted that our countries need to move to more active, coordinated and structured approaches to these phenomena, develop mechanisms to protect against attempts of destructive influence on state institutions and public life, purposefully stop attempts to infiltrate elements of radicalism, sow hostility and intolerance.

&ndash; To do this, we need to use the political, diplomatic, organizational, scientific, technical and other resources at our disposal. Peace, stability and security within the Commonwealth must be inviolable and reliably guaranteed,&quot; President Serdar Berdimuhamedov stressed.

On the external circuit, the CIS countries face no less significant tasks. The session of the UN General Assembly that has begun has shown the existence of considerable and largely conceptual differences in approaches to solving a number of acute problems of modern geopolitics. Nevertheless, despite all their seriousness, Turkmenistan proceeds from the fact that stabilization of the situation in the world is possible, and it lies in the political, diplomatic, and negotiating plane. The most important factor in this context is the use of the UN as the only organization with universal legitimacy in maintaining global security and stability, the head of Turkmenistan said.

Next year will mark the 80th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations. This is a major milestone. It is obvious that the CIS, as a partner of the UN, needs to do a lot of work aimed at strengthening the world organization, supporting and uniting member states around the UN Charter, countering attempts to discredit and dilute its functions.

&ndash; Turkmenistan considers holding events within the framework of the International Year of Peace and Trust next year, in accordance with the Resolution of the General Assembly adopted on the initiative of our country, to be an important part of our joint activities in this regard. Of course, as the author of this proposal, Turkmenistan will play a proactive role in the upcoming work, and we would like to involve our CIS partners in it as much as possible and enlist your active support,&quot; President Serdar Berdimuhamedov said.

As President Serdar Berdimuhamedov further noted, at the meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the CIS held in Ashgabat in May this year, agreements were reached and specific tasks were set to further deepen economic partnership. The priorities include transport, energy, industrial cooperation, and a number of other areas. Turkmenistan fully supports this approach. Advocating the full implementation of the provisions of the CIS Economic Cooperation Strategy until 2030, our country proceeds from the need for a phased and consistent implementation of the document, adhering to the schedules of agreements reached in one direction or another.

&ndash; In general, we are convinced that the CIS in its economic activities should be guided by large, defining trends in global geo-economics in order to ensure its strategic involvement in their course and structural orientation. The essence of these trends today is the shift of the vector of economic development to the south and southeast. The CIS is a natural space in this irreversible movement,&quot; the head of Turkmenistan continued.

One of the effective ways here is the participation of the CIS in international and regional projects in the south and south-east directions from the borders of the Commonwealth. Moreover, the opportunities for this are opening up. More recently, in mid-September, Turkmenistan began the practical implementation of a new stage of construction of large infrastructure facilities. The laying of the Afghan part of the Turkmenistan&ndash;Afghanistan&ndash;Pakistan&ndash;India gas pipeline has begun. The Afghan section of the Turkmenistan&ndash;Afghanistan&ndash;Pakistan power transmission line has been launched. The construction of the Turkmenistan&ndash;Afghanistan railway line through the territory of the neighboring state has started.

The participation of the Commonwealth countries in these and other similar projects that will appear is a sure and reliable way to reach a strategic perspective, and we must fully utilize our combined resources and potential, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov stressed.

This fully applies to the issue of transport connectivity, primarily in the context of the implementation of the Action Plan for Infrastructure Optimization and the Development of International Corridors passing through the territories of the CIS member States for the period up to 2030.

Turkmenistan attaches particular importance to the cooperation of the CIS countries in the North&ndash;South transport corridor project along the eastern coast of the Caspian Sea with further access to Iran and further to the seaports of the Indian Ocean. In this regard, the head of the Turkmen state voiced a proposal to start a substantive discussion and agreement on common tariff, customs, visa and other preferences for the participating countries of the project.

&ndash; We believe that similar work should be carried out in the context of plans to create transport corridors through the territory of the countries of Central Asia and the Caspian region along the East&ndash;West line, &ndash; said President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, proposing to consider in specific terms the modalities of this work &ndash; specifying deadlines, agendas and so on, to give instructions to the relevant departments of our countries.
