On August 29, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, during which he emphasized that September 1 will be widely celebrated in the country as the Day of Knowledge and Student Youth. The International University of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs will be commissioned in Ashgabat, and an additional educational building of the State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan will be opened in the city of Mary. A number of schools and kindergartens will be put into operation in the capital and velayats.

According to the head of state, the commissioning of the International University of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs on the Day of Knowledge and Student Youth will be a significant event in the life of the country.

In this regard, the President asked Hero Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to take part in the opening ceremony of the new university.

On August 29, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on a digital system, where the results of the work carried out in the country over the first eight months of this year were summed up.

The first to speak was the Chairman of the Mejlis Dunyagozel Gulmanova, who reported on the results of the national parliament&#39;s activities for January-August of this year.

She reported that 15 legislative acts were adopted during the period under review. Along with this, amendments and additions were made to existing legal acts related to criminal, arbitration, civil, criminal procedure, family and labor relations, tax, administrative and production issues, activities in the field of motor transport, migration, internal affairs agencies, and customs. During the specified period, 11 resolutions of the Mejlis were also adopted.

Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Khodjamyrat Geldimyradov reported on preliminary macroeconomic indicators for the first eight months of this year. As a result of the comprehensive measures taken for the specified period, GDP is 6.3 percent, including in industry the growth rate was 1.5 percent, in construction - 7 percent, in the transport and communications sector - 11 percent, in trade - 9.8 percent, in agriculture - 4.9 percent, in the service sector - 8.4 percent.

Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Tangryguly Atakhalliyev reported on the results of the activities of the supervised complex for January-August of this year, as well as on the ongoing agricultural campaigns in the velayats. He noted that the Priority Positions of Turkmenistan at the above-mentioned session for the upcoming political year have been developed. This document includes a number of key areas. At the same time, strengthening global peace and security is defined as one of the most important vectors.

At the same time, it is proposed to include for the first time in the agenda of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly the item &quot;Neutrality - for the sake of peace and security&quot; and within its framework to submit draft resolutions &quot;The role and importance of the policy of neutrality in maintaining and strengthening international peace, security and the process of sustainable development&quot; and &quot;International Mediation Day&quot;.

In the context of cooperation with the UN in the legal sphere, based on the initiatives of the head of state, Turkmenistan puts forward important proposals on the role and significance of international law. One of them is to declare 2028 the Year of International Law. In this regard, in the coming years, our country will actively act as a member of the relevant Councils in the UN structure. Preparatory work will also continue on the election of Turkmenistan as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for the period 2031-2032 and for other elective positions.

Various projects were implemented with their participation, in particular, the project of a gas chemical complex in the Balkan velayat for the production of 386 thousand tons of polyethylene, 81 thousand tons of polypropylene worth more than 3 billion 400 million US dollars, as well as a project of a plant for cleaning commercial gas from sulfur as part of the development of the Galkynysh field with a capacity of 10 billion cubic meters annually and worth over 1 billion 484 million US dollars.

We can also mention the project of a complex in the structure of the Turkmenabat Chemical Plant named after S.A. Niyazov for the production of 350 thousand tons of superphosphate and 100 thousand tons of ammonium sulfate per year worth 682 million US dollars.

In this regard, the head of the friendly state expressed gratitude to the President of Turkmenistan for the favorable conditions provided to Korean companies for fruitful work in the Turkmen market.

The interlocutors emphasized the presence of enormous potential for activating targeted cooperation in the cultural and humanitarian sphere.

As the head of state noted, at the initiative of Turkmenistan, the UN General Assembly declared 2025 the &quot;International Year of Peace and Trust&quot;.
