A delegation of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan, headed by Deputy Chairman M. Muhammedov, paid a working visit to the Russian Federation. The main outcome of the meetings was the preparation of a large-scale cooperation plan for the next three years.

Turkmenistan and Russia Agree on a Draft Plan of Joint Activities for 2026–2028

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, on December 27, in accordance with good tradition, visited the New Year&#39;s performance at the Main Tree of the country and the New Year&#39;s show at the building of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan. This event evoked a special feeling of joy in the happy children.

A large-scale New Year celebration unfolded in front of the &quot;&Auml;lem&quot; Cultural and Entertainment Center. At the 64th plenary meeting of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly, two resolutions initiated by Turkmenistan were unanimously adopted. Turkmenistan is preparing to host a large-scale Turkmen-Chinese business forum and exhibition scheduled for April 28-30, 2026, which will serve as an important international platform for expanding trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.

The joint-stock company &quot;Talvas Yoly&quot; and its division &quot;Oguz Forum &amp; Expo&quot; in cooperation with the Turkmen Logistics Association are the official organizers of the event. A ceremonial event titled &quot;International Year of Peace and Trust: Confident Steps of Neutral Turkmenistan&quot; was held at the Mekan Palace in Ashgabat on December 25, organized by the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan. Welcoming the participants, Rejep Bazarov, Head of the Apparatus of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, noted the importance of this event. In the foreign market entrepreneurs from Afghanistan concluded deals with the State concern &ldquo;Turkmenhimiya&rdquo; to purchase urea brand &ldquo;B&rdquo;.

Representatives of business circles of Georgia concluded deals with the local entrepreneurs to purchase cotton fiber. During the trade exchange, 5 deals were concluded for a total cost of 27 092 580,00 manats and 1 906 450,00 US dollars.

2025, the International Year of Peace and Trust, is drawing to a close, marking the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan&#39;s permanent neutrality.

The year&#39;s results have not yet been summarized in figures, but the most significant events that marked this anniversary year are already visible, including those in the development of the oil and gas industry&mdash;a key segment of the national economy and a strategic resource for the country.

During working meetings and sessions of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan held this year, current areas of the energy strategy, focused on innovative development and improvement of the fuel and energy infrastructure, were discussed. Among the strategic objectives set by President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov for the fuel and energy sector, which are being successfully implemented in 2025 by the state concerns Turkmengas, Turkmennebit, and the State Corporation Turkmengeology, are the identification and development of new promising fields, expansion of production capacity, increased hydrocarbon production and processing volumes, ensuring uninterrupted gas supplies to consumers and reliable energy transportation, as well as expanding business contacts with leading oil and gas companies and reputable financial institutions.

In 2025, the implementation of large-scale international projects continued, including the construction of the Turkmenistan&ndash;Afghanistan&ndash;Pakistan&ndash;India (TAPI) gas pipeline, which is designed not only to supply Turkmen gas to Asian countries but also to become an important factor in strengthening economic partnership, peace, and stability in the region. In this regard, the launch of the next stage of the Serhetabat-Herat gas pipeline, known as &quot;Arkadagyň ak &yacute;oly&quot; and part of the TAPI project, was a significant event of the year.

Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, symbolically launched welding work on the Afghan section. Speaking at the ceremony, Arkadagyň noted that Afghan citizens will also be involved in the project&#39;s implementation, and its full implementation will create new jobs. Furthermore, annual revenues to Afghanistan will average over $1 billion, which will have a positive impact on bilateral relations and the development of the region as a whole.

One of the key areas of independent Turkmenistan&#39;s energy strategy remains the supply of Turkmen energy to foreign markets. This topic has been repeatedly raised during meetings and negotiations at the highest and other levels.

Thus, as part of the official visit of Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to Italy on October 25, a Turkmen-Italian business forum was held in Rome, bringing together over 150 representatives of the two countries&#39; business communities. In his speech, the head of state noted that Turkmenistan is considering the prospects of a western energy supply route, emphasizing its readiness for substantive dialogue with Italian partners, including in the areas of deep processing and the export of high-value-added products.

Throughout the year, work continued on the industrial development of Turkmen offshore fields in the Caspian Sea, as well as the world&#39;s largest onshore gas field, Galkynysh, with reserves estimated at 27.4 trillion cubic meters.

A significant achievement for drillers at the State Concern Turkmennebit was the commissioning of a new well at the Uzynada field, measuring 6,830 meters deep and producing 70 tons of oil condensate and 75,000 cubic meters of natural gas daily. Notably, the well was commissioned at the beginning of the International Year of Peace and Trust.

Turkmen geologists continued active work to identify new underground natural resource reserves. Seismic exploration in the country&#39;s provinces revealed several promising structures. Another significant milestone was the opening in July of the third oil loading berth at the Kenar oil product storage and loading facility of the Turkmenbashi Oil Refinery Complex of the State Concern Turkmennebit.

A clear example of Turkmenistan&#39;s commitment to international climate action, including participation in the Global Methane Emissions Reduction Commitment, is the work to reduce emissions at the Darvaza gas crater. In June 2025, a significant reduction in gas supply to the crater was reported, confirmed by both a visual reduction in combustion intensity and independent satellite data from the Capterio company.

Specialized exhibitions and conferences traditionally play an important role in promoting the domestic fuel and energy sector and developing international cooperation. In 2025, Turkmenistan actively participated in a number of significant international forums both domestically and internationally.

The &quot;Lebapgazchykarysh&quot; Department put into operation a new gas well &quot;Hazarly-2,&quot; drilled by specialists from the &quot;Marynebitgazg&ouml;zleg&quot; expedition of the State Corporation &quot;T&uuml;rkmengeologi&yacute;a.&quot; The well is located at the Khazarly site near the Bovrideshik gas field and became the first to begin industrial production in this area.

The daily capacity of the well is 120 thousand cubic meters of natural gas. Its commissioning will make it possible to increase production volumes of environmentally friendly fuel, which is in demand in both domestic and foreign markets.

Based on the results of 11 months of the current year, the department&#39;s workforce fulfilled the production plan by more than 101%, having extracted 8.516 billion cubic meters of gas. By the end of the year, it is planned to bring this figure to 9.3 billion cubic meters. An additional result was the production of 28,039 tons of associated gas condensate, which is 2,235 tons above the plan.

The increase in production also ensured an increase in export supplies: the volume of gas exports exceeded the plan by almost 41%, which corresponds to an additional 1.38 billion cubic meters delivered to foreign consumers.

New Gas Well titled "Hazarly-2" Put into Operation in Lebap Velayat of Turkmenistan

National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, on December 24, within the framework of a working trip to Balkan velayat, flew over the Avaza National tourist zone by helicopter and familiarized himself with the ongoing works, natural features of the Caspian coast, new buildings of the expanding tourist zone, and construction works being carried out.

Currently, construction of the Turkmenbashi &mdash; Garabogaz &mdash; Kazakhstan border highway, which was launched with the participation of the esteemed President, is continuing at full pace. The National Leader inspected from the helicopter the works being carried out on the construction of the international transport corridor.

Then Hero Arkadag inspected the production complexes of Avaza. The establishment of uninterrupted operation of Avaza&#39;s high-capacity power station creates the main condition for uninterrupted supply of electricity to production facilities, medical institutions, hotels and residential buildings on the Caspian Sea coast.

On October 16, 2024, a meeting was held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and the President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari.

During the meeting, a wide range of issues of Turkmen-Pakistani cooperation were discussed in the context of the implementation of previously reached agreements and long-term plans for the future.

One of the key vectors of cooperation was the further development of economic partnership, where there is solid potential for increasing trade volumes and diversifying mutually beneficial ties.

It was stated that great importance is also attached to intensifying productive partnerships in such areas as energy and transport. In this context, the importance of strengthening joint activities in the implementation of the Turkmenistan &ndash; Afghanistan &ndash; Pakistan &ndash; India (TAPI) gas pipeline and the Turkmenistan &ndash; Afghanistan &ndash; Pakistan (TAP) power transmission line projects was emphasized.

On the same day, as part of the visit of the delegation of Turkmenistan to Pakistan, a meeting was held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and the Federal Minister of Energy of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Musadiq Masood Malik.

During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of cooperation in the energy sector, in particular, projects for the construction of the Turkmenistan - Afghanistan - Pakistan - India (TAPI) gas pipeline and the Turkmenistan - Afghanistan - Pakistan (TAP) power transmission line.

In this context, the parties emphasized the strategic importance of large-scale projects in strengthening regional ties, promoting economic growth and meeting the energy needs of participating countries.

It was noted that the TAP power transmission line and the TAPI gas pipeline would play a significant role in meeting Pakistan&#39;s industrial electricity needs.

Emphasis was placed on the importance of completing the work on preparing bilateral documents that will be used for the practical implementation of projects. It was also proposed to develop a Roadmap for joint actions of the Turkmen and Pakistani sides in the energy sector.

The parties agreed to maintain regular contacts in order to implement joint projects.
